I'm not convinced many here have seen a lot of video on Giles. He really rode the hype train to the top of the draft. His skillset doesn't match our needs at all. Add the knees into it and I'd stay away.

In order to get the 6th pick in the draft we need to have about 29-30 wins and that's being optimistic. As of now our defense is too good for us to to get a pick of that quality. Getting the 8th pick is far more likely and I could see us drafting with the 8th pick Lauri Markkanen if the draft was tomorrow. The fit is just too perfect.

Brooklyn & LA Lakers, 2 teams that were expected to be bottom dwellers look better than us. Plus, there are teams like Minnesota and Milwaukee that are only going to get better. Miami's offense is bottom 5, and defense although good isn't that good. Only Phoenix & possibly Philly (if no Simmons & Embiid still on minute restrictions) I see legitimately being worse than us. Wizards are a little better because they've got John Wall. Pelicans are better because of AD. Indiana has PG. Thats it.

Has anyone mentioned De'Aaron Fox? Could see Riley giving a long look at the Kentucky prospect if we get a mid pick.

Yeah, both of those teams are most likely better than us but they're plenty of teams that look worst than us. You got to remember that this is probably the hardest part of the schedule for us so you can't go solely off of w/l when trying to determine how good we are. We're very comparable to that 2013-14 Charlotte Bobcats team. Great defensively but very bad offensively. That same Bobcats team was 8 games under .500 at one point during the season but finished 4 games over .500.

Can you really say we'll have a worse record than any one of these teams? The Knicks, Magic, Wizards, 76ers, Nuggets, Suns, Mavericks and the Pelicans? And then there's the Grizzlies and Kings and the Pacers aren't doing so good either. One thing in common that most top 5 lottery pick teams have in common is that they're terrible on both sides of the ball and that isn't the Heat.

When watching the actual games and not highlights, I just dont see anything that unique or elite about Jackson for everyone to be all in on him.

He was never able to get into a rhythm vs Indiana but i'm sure he'll bounce back.
Also I don't know why Wings go to Kansas they never really show out in Bill Self's system.

I said the same thing while watching the Kansas game. I was shocked that Jackson decided to go there.

The biggest thing is that our offence is inconsistently terrible. A great defence (& ours is good, but not great) can only hide so much. After that, the other side of he ball had to carry its own.

Magic will probably look to make another win-now trade and consolidate a PO push. The Nuggets are possibly a good solid 8-10 seed. Pelicans have AD, and when they're healthy have a chance to go on a couple streaks in softer sections of their schedule. Honestly based on what we've seen so far I can only say we are definitely better than the 6ers and Suns. All others we can fall one side or the other.

Pacers have more than enough, and shouldn't be in this discussion. Grizzlies will stay well above us if not for injuries, and the Kings are actually looking more solid than normal. Nets seem to have parts that are fitting - even though they don't have many good parts.

Just a lot of fear mongering, you'll get use to that here. By conference, it'd be a surprise to me if we're not 8th or above with relative health and roster

His form is weird but I like the confidence, just letting it fly:

Worst case scenario, he's MCW with less turnovers, but if he can maintain a good fg% watch out.

Skeptical about Ball. Yeah he can dish it out but how well is he gonna do shooting the ball? Look at Rondo and Rubio for example. I think for now De'Arron Fox is the best prospect within our range. I predict he'll be rising up in future draft rankings, maybe even go top 6.

He's a better athlete and has far superior vision and passing compared to MCW. His half court scorer is his big question mark. I think worst case he's Rubio.

Markelle Fultz 1st game:

11-17 FG | 2-5 3P FG | 6-10 FT | 30 points | 7 rebounds | 6 assists (3 turnovers) | 1 block

This guy is a surefire star

I feel like he's guaranteed to be top pick when it's all said and done.

As of now, this is where I think the lottery picks and draftees will be going.

1.Philadelphia-Markelle Fultz
2.Phoenix-Jayson Tatum
3.Denver-Josh Jackson
4.Dallas-Dennis Smith
5.Orlando-Jonathan Isaac
6.New York-Frank Ntilikina
7.Washington-Harry Giles
8.New Orleans-Lauri Markkanen
9.Sacramento-OG Anunoby
10.Miami-De'Aaron Fox
11.Minnesota-Ivan Rabb
12.Indiana-Malik Monk
13.Memphis-Jarrett Allen
14.Brooklyn-Marques Bolden

About 75/25 the Heat would pick Fox over Rabb. Anywhere from 5-7 Giles could go. Pheonix doesn't pick a guard since they're already stacked with them. With Sacremento most likely trading Rudy Gay somewhere this season they'll probably want to draft a SF. Orlando nearly has the same problem as Pheonix but Jonathan Isaac also has very high upside.
