Uribe and Panda have incredible arms.

Willie needs to just lose some weight so we can either play him at 2nd or move him around different positions.
He's trade bait to me.

wonder if he can ever be just average on D on multiple positions to be a young Zobrist. probably asking or a miracle.

with Chooch's trade, hope we are not getting back Zach Lee or Tom Wilhelmsen. Ariel Miranda or Edwin Diaz would be super nice but that is highly unlikely. I would settle for Cody Martin

dodgernation has an article about Verlander himself wanting to come over to the Dodgers, which I am not surprised by, but the writer alao hints at possible trade baits of De Leon/Bellinger/Verdugo/ and Willie.for that price we should be able to grab Sale.

Plenty of Love for Bellinger on MLB.com

Jonathan Mayo, MLB.com (11/29/16)
Cody Bellinger, 1B/OF (Dodgers)
Bellinger, who hit a long home run in the Fall Stars Game, brings both advanced hitting skills and MLB bloodlines to the table. The son of former Yankee Clay Bellinger, Cody has a sweet swing from the left side that generates a ton of power. He maintained his power in 2016 and continued to draw walks while cutting down his strikeout rate, all good signs for the future. A terrific first baseman defensively, he's also athletic enough to handle an outfield corner if needed.

Ringlosbly's take: "He understands how to make adjustments. He hit four home runs combined his first two years in pro ball. That's not enough for a corner outfielder/first baseman. He got that. He started to put more loft into his swing and hit 30 home runs in High A ball two years ago and struck out 150 times. OK, now I've got to adjust to that. He goes to Double-A, hits 26 home runs between Double-A and his short stint in Triple-A and got his strikeout total below 100."

BTW, if we are really going after Brian Dozier with the outgoing package of De Leon, Willie, and Brock, then I would asssume they have no need for Jorge Polanco. they have a DH they imported from Korea who is on relatively cheap contract, but for them it is an investment of about 9 million in next 3 years, and I don't see him being tradeable. they are rebuilding and no need to dump that money to groom a DH, WIllie is wanted to be Dozier's replacement. then I want Dozier AND Polanco from them. if they do not wish to deal Polanco and hang on to him, then I would assme then they don't really have a place for their DH Park, then have them pay a half of his salary and give him to us. if they want to hang on to both, then what the hell is the point of asking for Willie? otherwise if we are already giving up De Leon, just give them Jose and Brock and call it good.

not sure why I don't see it in American sites but far east sites state that the Giants are now in on Dozier, probably to either effectively keep him away from the dodgers or elevate the cost to waste dodger's resoures.

Teams Always After Our Prospects

Post#535 » by Ranma » Thu Dec 29, 2016 9:30 am

Apparently, the Twins are trying to get other teams involved in the Dozier derby in order to pressure the Dodgers into giving up more quality prospects only to be rebuffed. I'm not a fan of including De Leon in the first place. I've already gone on record in saying that I don't want to make the trade as currently constructed.

Let the Twins keep him or try to settle for the Giants' depleted offerings. Whatever. It is more likely that De Leon will increase his trade value while Dozier will have his dwindled before the trade deadline. If both teams want to sell high on their respective assets, I'd trade Verdugo, Calhoun, and Stewart for Dozier.

Being "stingy" allowed the Dodgers to keep Seager, Urias, and Pederson, who are all significant contributors to the ballclub so other teams can suck it. How about we turn the tables and see what prospects the Twins are willing to give up for Kazmir, Ryu, and/or McCarthy?

Glad to see Keith Law say this and it is part of the reason I said earlier in the offseason that I am content with where our pitching is in the organization. I view Buehler as an elite arm even though no ranking has him there yet.

Buehler was a top 10 pick whose stock dropped because of his senior year. Turns out he needed TJS. We invested in him under slot value. We got him and I think he takes off this year now that he is healthy.

I read another write up on him needing to use his lower half much more (remember Neddy spotted that) and I'm just crossing my fingers that we can coach him up in that area.

Personally, I like his stuff.

Kershaw
Urias
Buehler
DeLeon
Maeda/ Brock

This for 2019 and beyond makes me happy as hell.
