Re: Political Roundtable Part XI
* The Muslim female student at the University of Louisiana who claimed to have had her hijab ripped off and her wallet stolen the day after Trump's election by two white men wearing Trump hats. It was a hoax. She made it up.
* An alleged incident of a gay man named Chris Ball getting beaten up by Trump supporters in Santa Monica on election night. It was a hoax. The Santa Monica police confirm that there was no police report filed and nobody was admitted to the hospital with those injuries.
* An alleged Ku Klux Klan rally in honor of Trump's victory. It was a hoax. It turned out to be an old photo of conservatives carrying U.S., Gadsden, and Christian flags that were billowing out in a manner mistaken in a grainy photo for Klan robes. There were no Southern Illinois University students posting blackface selfies to social media after Trump's win.
* A Nazi flag that went up over a home in San Francisco Wednesday. It was not an act of racism. An anti-Trump resident put it up as a protest.
* A black woman claimed that four white men had threatened her while she was pumping gas at a Smyrna, Delaware, gas station Wednesday. After talking about things would change now that Trump was president, one of the men allegedly approached her and asked, "How scared are you, black bitch?" before saying "I should kill you right now. You're a waste of air." Another of the men allegedly flashed a gun and said, "You're lucky there's witnesses or else I'd shoot you right here." The woman, Ashley Boyer, posted about this awful incident on Facebook in an update that was since deleted; on Thursday, she followed up by noting that "charges were filed, fugitives were caught." It was a hoax. When PhillyVoice contacted Smyrna police Thursday, the department said no report about such an incident had been filed and no one had contacted them about anything similar.
* An Asian college student in Minnesota named Kathy Mirah Tu said she was accosted by a white man while crossing a bridge on the University of Minnesota-Twin Cities campus. "I was stop in my tracked by a white male, who yelled at me to 'Go back to Asia,'" Tu posted to Facebook, in an update that had received more than 17,000 shares as of Thursday evening. "I pretended to not hear any thing and continue on walking since I didn't want to create conflict. Shortly after that moment, I was stopped by that same man who told me 'Don't you know it's disrespectful to walk away from someone when they are talking to you?" After that, the man grabbed Tu's wrist and threatened to hit her so she punched him, according to her post. "His friends who were watching the entire situation go down saw that I was going to the win fight and came over to his rescue and accused me of assaulting him and called the police." According to Tu, the police arrived and handcuffed her but eventually let her off with a warning. It was a hoax. Neither the campus police nor the Minneapolis Police Department have any record of the incident Tu describes.

There is no wave of racist sentiment following Trump's victory. These are hoaxes or wild exaggerations that are being reported to fit a narrative. Surely, in a nation of 300 million people, one can cherry pick the news stories and find a few examples of this happening, but I guarantee that there has been more vandalism, violence and scare tactics directed against Trump supporters than vice versa. But the media, in service of the Democrats, wish to create a narrative.

Trump is already creating high paying jobs and he's not even President yet.

Interesting coming from Frank Bruni

He goes onto blame the Clintons too.
I think the Ds will be fine if they heed his advice.

From the presidential race on down, Democrats adopted a strategy of inclusiveness that excluded a hefty share of Americans and consigned many to a “basket of deplorables” who aren’t all deplorable. Some are hurt. Some are confused.
Political correctness has morphed into a moral purity that may feel exhilarating but isn’t remotely tactical. It’s a handmaiden to smugness and sanctimony, undermining its own goals.
He goes onto blame the Clintons too.

I think the "basket of deplorables" comment hurt her more than any other one thing - just as the 47% comment hurt Romney. Either way, I'm impressed with Trump's tone since the election. Hopefully, that's a sign of things to come.

Political Roundtable Part XI
For every one fake Trump related racism charge, there are probably 100 real ones. Just from my FB friends alone I read two personal accounts from friends who had:
1. White Power shouted out of a moving car at them
2. "My youngest brother is in his early 20's. On 11.10 his Korean-heritage friend got circled in a Dallas Wing Stop parking lot by 3 white guys in SMU T-shirts who called him a chink and told him this country is going to be white again. It's my childhood all over again, and inauguration day has not happened yet."

Just reinforces what I always believed: Trump never actually wanted to be President.
I mean it's great for the ego but once you consider the actual responsibilities....yeah.
President Donald Trump referred to African countries, Haiti and El Salvador as "shithole" nations during a meeting Thursday and asked why the U.S. can't have more immigrants from Norway.

With the Anti-Semitic Bannon appointment, the white racist factions must have nutted themselves when they read this, I wonder if they will have there will be a White Pride ball on inauguration night?

it's simply unbelievable...a pretty open white supremacist is going to be working in the WH in 2016.
hillary has to be one of the worst candidates in modern day history to lose to this buffoon

You go on believing that.
Trump will be in the White House. He'll probably take lots of weekends and vacations to New York just as W did to his ranch in Texas, but he won't be running the country from Trump Tower. This is just more nonsense from the media.

Nate called it early - I think he is from Ohio and probably saw what we didn't... notice that an electrician that voted for Obama flipped - he chafed at being labeled racist.
