Magic @ Pacers, 11/14

Post#1 » by boomershadow » Mon Nov 14, 2016 5:22 pm

I've been actively watching Magic games and hoping to see Frank Vogel succeed down there. I don't hope they beat the Pacers, but I'll be watching this game with great interest.

They played yesterday in a close game in OKC (which they pulled out) and we're at home. Based on rest, we should beat them. Based on how our team plays, who knows what the hell happens?

Both teams have been the victim of some growing pains and some very inconsistent play. It's rather possible that the outcome of the game really depends on which version(s) of each team actually show up to the court tonight.

Can't imagine a loss here.
Magic are on a back-to-back and every decent team that has lost their previous home game will put in that little bit of extra effort to take revenge.

(second) best win of the season :)

I root for the Pacers and then the Magic, in that order of importance. The Pacers have always been my team, but I also feel a huge amount of fan loyalty to Frank Vogel.

lol Frank Vogel is one hellavu a coach.
Even as our opponents coach he knows how to get the best possible defense out of the Pacers.

Though we shouldn't give Vogel all the credit.
Taking out Al Jefferson and putting in a motivated Kevin Seraphin, also helps a lot defensively.
Words can not describe how much I hope that Kevin keeps his motivation.

Seraphin was huge. Not sure why he and Big Al can't play together. Al had been playing really well as of late. I'm not a huge Lavoy fan.

Perhaps because both of them weigh close to 300 pounds and we are trying to be a running team?

If they keep running for a full season though, they possibly might be in a respectable body shape for the playoffs.

I don't think huge Lavoy Allen fans even exist, so it might be an option later on, to play both heavyweights. Seraphin moves incredibly well for a 300 pounder. Big or smallball, the best lineups should be playing.

Kevin Seraphin looked like a bad mutha out there.

I will say this about Nate McMillan so far, he's willing to try things. And sometimes they work. Under Frank, we never tried a new thing until the old one didn't work 65 times at least. That's not a knock on him, that's just his personality and his coaching philosophy. And it works in a lot of ways. But what happened with Seraphin last night couldn't have happened under Frank. So there is reason for encouragement.

I agree that lineup will not always work. Thought against the Magic that were playing big guys it would have been ok. Seraphin moves really well for a big guy. Tonight against the Cavs would not be a good time for that lineup.
