Staaap. This year is not much different than any other year.
This year isn't any deeper than the 2014 or 2015 draft were projected. Remember when Wiggins, Parker, Randle, Gordon and Exum were going to challenge Iverson, Marbury, Allen, Kobe and Nash for best draft ever? Remember when we were going to be challenging for the Championship with a core of MCW, Noel and Wiggins (or if we get Exum, we could always get Okafor next year)? Guys get too caught up in this yearly nonsense. People assuming that the 76ers will automatically be set by whoever they get in this draft, are being way too presumptuous. The players in this draft aren't projected any better (or NBA ready) than either of the 2014 or 2015 drafts. Multiple players picked in the top 5 of each of those drafts aren't anything special and the same will happen in this draft.
Wait until you see the players 2 or 3 games before you figure out every guard in this draft is a potential All-star.
I agree that is too early to really evaluate the draft, but at this point I think that the draft is looking very deep in the top 10, and neither 2015, nor 2016 was looking like that this early.
It is an open question if there will be a single prospect on the level of Embiid, KAT or Simmons, but the next tier down could have as many as 5-6 guys, and that is a very good sign.
This year's draft class isn't thought of any more highly than the 2015 draft. Okafor, Towns, Turner, Mudiay, Johnson and Oubre were thought of just as highly, if not more highly than this class. And we all know the outcome of that terrific class.
