Re: OT: What Are You Listening to Now?
Continuing my progressive metal kick, I love, love, love this song and the album it's on:
I like how the song evolves he plays with that melodic theme throughout the song. I couldn't handle it if it was just straight forward pounding the whole song, but he does a nice job switching up the tempo and intensity.
If you don't dig it at first, skip to 6:30.

Sound really reminded me of old Dream Theater, I was obsessed with them in 93

I'll pick up the mantle for album of the week and recommend something totally different: The Ravishing Genius of Bones by Brian Finnegan. Traditional Irish tunes for when you are in the mood for that sort of thing.

Yeah, there's something refreshing about listening to some nice Irish / Celtic tunes. I dovetailed into that when I was going deep on a bluegrass kick. Spotify deep dives are the best.

Was listening to NPR and they did a segment on Holly Bowling, who is a classically trained pianist that has two albums of her interpretations of Phish and Grateful Dead tunes. Both albums are on Spotify and I'm really enjoying them.

I tried a couple of months ago and while interesting, I got bored fast.
