I mean, here's a realistic scenario... CB falls down on a Peavy go route and he beats the safety to the end zone, Shaw takes a jet sweep 60 yards for a TD, our elite level D plays lights out forcing 3 TOs from a somewhat rattled true freshman QB including one retuned for a TD. We're outgained 200 yards to 400 yards, but win 21-17.

Weirder things have happened. Unlikely? Sure. Unprecedented? Nah. Just a few huge plays and great defense can win an upset.

Key is to get there. Win 3 more, hope for the committee to come through, and then worry about it.

Not the 3rd best team in the B1G if we win the conference championship. Really should have already won the OSU game. Took foot off the pedal and got some really bad calls against. And against Michigan there was no Biegel, nor Shaw, and Watt got injured during the drive they scored the game winning td. So there's really nothing separating those teams. Unfortunate not to take one of those two games and be sitting here with 1 loss. This with such a tough schedule.

Haven't lost to neither Purdue nor Minnesota since '03. Should just be a matter of winning the conference championship and we're in. Not that it's an easy task, but they have a good shot, and it's what it will come down to.

If we win the Big Ten Title Game, I'll buy a Qdoba Hot Taco Bar for the mods and my favorite posters.

Just read about Bob Stoops ripping his stud DT for leaving the team to prepare for the draft.

Also mentions the guy hasn't played since Oct 1 due to a concussion, which is his 2nd concussion suffered while at Oklahoma.

I applaud this young man - why would anyone risk their brain and millions of eventual dollars to play in what are now a bunch of essentially meaningless college football games?

In fact, F*CK Bob Stoops for even calling this kid out in the first place.

I seriously hope more big time college guys take this approach.

I had the same impression. If the guy was healthy and just quit, I would probably have a problem with that. But the guy has been out six weeks with a concussion. If he gets another he losses millions of dollars.

I think it's more likely that the committee **** us and gives Louisville a second ACC bid even if we win out. I mean, Louisville almost beat Clemson at Clemson. I wouldn't begrudge them for getting in. I also wouldn't begrudge OSU for getting in over us, as they did beat us at Camp Randall. But no to Washington or Oklahoma. They're bull schools in bull conferences.

I do wonder if Michigan would get the Big 10 nod in that case. Two loss team vs one loss, and one of our two would be against them.

Michigan would be a two loss team in that scenario.

In my scenario, Michigan (which lost their QB for the season) would lose @ Ohio State, Penn State would win out and has the head-to-head over OSU, and we'd win out and beat Penn State in the B1G Title game.

In that scenario, we get in and I think Ohio State, as the best one loss team, gets in, too.

Gah, my bad. I had it reversed. Flip everything I said and make OSU the one loss team.

True, but OSU has a worse loss, went to OT to beat us, and wouldn't have the conference championship.

Irrespective of that, though, I think both teams get bids in that scenario. Bama - Clemson - OSU - Wisconsin. I don't see Washington getting in with their terrible conference, Louisville is toast, Oklahoma has two worse losses and no conference title.

I could see this. The big ten has been far and away the best conference all season.

If we win out, our argument would be the conference championship, and two very close losses.

OSU's would be one loss (a good one), and they beat the conference Champs head to head.

I hope I'm wrong but I really don't see how the Badgers would get in over OSU.

It depends. The selection committee has continuously stressed the importance of winning your conference championship and finishing strong. Not saying it wouldn't still happen, but they'd make themselves look like a big joke.

OTish-Clemson is a joke as well. They've almost been beaten a handful of times this year and skated by on preseason hype.

Clemson reminds me of the 2014(?) FSU where they narrowly escaped many games and then got destroyed in the first round of the playoffs. I think they probably get dominated by anyone in the current top 6 not named Louisville.

Hey, come up with your own ****.

trwi7 wrote:Clemson reminds me so much of the 2014 Florida State team. Come in with huge expectations, go undefeated but with a bunch of close wins against mediocre competition who usually shoot themselves in the foot to lose the game. Go to the playoff and get steamrolled by a team that's just as talented but doesn't make mistakes.

If NC State didn't have the **** kicker I've ever seen, Clemson has two home losses to unranked teams.
