Chipper Jones

Post#1 » by dbenton » Fri Jul 6, 2007 5:00 pm

How big is this milestone? Sometimes we make too big a deal out of numbers and sometimes its not enough, so how important is it that Chipper Jones is now the Atlanta Braves all-time home run leader?

duh, of course its a big deal to be #1 on your franchise's all-time HR list, it shows all the hard work chipper's put in and how dedicated he is to this franchise....

he's a future HOFer, no doubt....

Not Only the Atlanta Braves homerun leader, but the first player in 7 years to homer from both sides of the plate in one game

I also think it is a great accomplishment and was just looking for some feeback. However, I don't think it makes Chipper Jones a lock for the HOF and I'm in the belief he isn't a hall of famer at this point of his career.

Chipper also now has 400 career doubles. Not a bad month for him to set some new career marks!

If Chipper were to retire right now he would most likely not be a lock but by the time he does retire I don't see why he won't be a lock for the hall. When Chipper retires he should have 400 plus homeruns and nearly 2,500 hits.

As of right now Chipper

every analyst that call braves games put this in their discussion, who all from the braves roster as of the time they are talking bout it will be in the HOF....they bring up smoltz, druw, chipper, and cox

every time they say smoltz, chipper, and cox could get in the HOF today and that druw has a ways to go, and i agree with all that....

I think that this is a pretty big deal for at least Chipper Jones because he can say that he is number All Time in Atlanta home run history. I would think it is a big honor if I were him.
