NAZ Suns

Post#1 » by aIvin adams » Fri May 20, 2016 5:33 pm

~90 min drive from Phoenix. I am definitely going to go to some games in Prescott Valley this winter. maybe get to see Dragan Bender before he debuts in the valley :P

I knew that our D-League team was moving to Prescott Valley but I didn't know they were changing their name and logo. I like it.

congrats to Sarver for ensuring the Suns are one of the teams who snatched up a 1-to-1 D-League affiliate.

we had the 1-to-1 affiliation last year, i think. but it's going to be so much more valuable w the NAZ team a short drive away. that means our prospects can attend practice and film session in the valley with Coach Watson and the PHX team and then drive north for a NAZ game on the same day.

This is probably one of the best things Sarver has done in his entire time in Phoenix, not that there's much good to speak of

Will they train in Phoenix or up north. It would be a great benefit to train in Phoenix.

my guess is that it will depend on scheduling, the individual prospect involved, and what the team is practicing.

when the PHX Suns are road tripping, I bet our top prospects will stick with the NAZ team. but when there's opportunity, why not send the guys w NBA contracts down to the valley to work out with the A team?

D League should be more interesting overall with some of the names playing there.

Assignments are already coming at a rapid rate this season, and it’s looking like intriguing rookies Dejounte Murray (Spurs), Derrick Jones Jr. (Suns) and Henry Ellenson (Pistons) will be among the NBA talents to watch.

Training camps aren’t the end of the road for a select group of players each season. By rule, NBA teams can retain up to four players they waive during training camp on their NBA D-League affiliates. Many of those players are undrafted rookies from June’s NBA Draft.

Among the candidates to make noise this season are Yogi Ferrell (Indiana/Long Island Nets), Gary Payton II (Oregon State/RGV Vipers), Wayne Selden (Kansas/Iowa Energy) and Anthony “Cat” Barber (NC State/Delaware 87ers).

Two years ago, Brady Heslip entered his rookie with the Reno Bighorns as a relatively anonymous, 6-foot-2 shooting guard out of Baylor. Two games into his pro career, he had scored 78 points — including 20 three-pointers — in 53 minutes of action and in the process become an internet sensation.

Heslip is back in his native Canada for a season with Raptors 905 and ready to turn more heads.

Global Game

Angloa (Yannick Moreira), Argentina (Patricio Garino), the Congo (Gracin Bakumanya), French Guiana (Livio Jean-Charles), India (Satnam Singh), Jamaica (Vashil Fernandez), Lithuania (Egidijus Mockevicius), Senegal (Mamadou N’Diaye) and Serbia (Nikola Jovanovic) are among the countries represented on this year’s rosters to parallel the NBA’s international flavor.

They stream games on facebook, not bad at all
If we get more rookies on this team, I'll definitely take a look.

Why haven't we sent Bender here to develop his game? He should get playing time now that Jones has been recalled.

Didn't Ingram get sent down to the Lakers D-League team? It's not really a bad thing getting sent down there.

I dont think they did. I guess it was Zubac.
Ingram is playing 22MPG there, no need to be in the D-League

Yes, Ingram is playing and is not exactly setting the world on fire. By most advanced stats he's on par or worse than Bender. Kinda ironic how he can get quality minutes on a team that's actually fighting for playoffs, while Bender is playing every 3rd game on a team that'll most likely finish with 25-ish wins.

Yeah, he's 1 point worse than Bender on RPM, but this stat just destroys all rookies so we'll have to wait.
Jaylen Brown -0.28
Joel Embiid -0.31
Kris Dunn -0.43
is RPM top3 rookies
