Bradley = 36 mins.
Thomas = 36 mins.
Horford = 34. And he just came back.
Smart = 31. (6th-man)

These guys shouldn't be playing more than 30 mins.
It's a long season. And we have a Strong 2nd Unit. Of which, that 2nd Unit needs to get set, and produce.

Can we just put jaylen's body into smart? :)

Read on Twitter

This might be lowkey play of the game. Brad Stevens gotta get partial credit for this win.

Even after a horrible offensive night Smart is still at 40/35% on the season. I'm still hesitant to call him a defensive specialist. That being said he took some bad shots tonight, the coaching staff really needs to focus on shot selection with him.

Gritty win, in a gritty game. Had a chance on a few opportunities to open this game up, but SVG is a good coach and Detroit is definitely a strong team at home. Marcus Morris wow! They did a great job of limiting turnovers which helps fuel the Celtics' offense. People will write that this was a pig of a game, but the Celtics won a game that was a playoff environment. Both teams are playing to win, no one's going to lay down. The Celtics did what it took to win a hard fought victory. Al Horford makes a huge difference, easy Victory Cigar. IT no turnovers, eight assists. Smart a tough offensive night, but he makes such a difference on the court, emphatically makes his presence known. I would like to see both Rozier and sadly Olynyk get more aggressive on the offensive side of the ball. Jerebko had a nice game. A big, a big our draft picks for a big.

I don't mind trading KO. He's not good enough to consider a main player, imho.

Anyway. Good win against a good team,especially at home. Got to go Horford. Smart and I.T get some puffs out of it too.

"GIMMIE THAT!"

"THIS! IS FUN!"

Wow, Detroit's PBP guy is Artificial Vanilla Icee. And what's up with their announcer referring to visiting teams by their last name only when they score? Someone should look up "Mason's" last name and refer to him by that for a change.

We have five players who are worth 30 minutes in a game: Horford, IT, AB, Jae, and Smart. And three assets that bear patience on potential: Brown, BRK '17, BRK '18. Everyone and everything else is... I'll be polite and say fungible.

Add another 30mpg big without touching those eight assets, and we'll be in business. (You all know my target by now. If not, hint: he had 10/16/4/5 tonight.)

Oh, also:

Boston 1.5 games back from 3rd seed in the east.
Brooklyn 1.5 games up from 2nd pick in the draft.

Finally the Celtics of last season showed up, all channelled in the last offensive possession of the game.

Thomas starts the offensive possesion with a catch and go from Horford, drives to the rim and makes the extra pass for the wide open corner three that Crowder misses. Yet the Celtics finish the play with hustle, Smart flying for the offensive tip back that touches the bottom of the rim while Horford is there for the clean up and make. Celtics offense, extra passes, take the best shot available and 100% effort for 24 seconds.

The hustle and heart Celtics are back, now the fun begins.

I agree with your overall sentiment, but I think Rozier has a chance to be a player. He's already a safe defender, most nights he is going to be in the right spot. He doesn't hawk the ball yet like Smart, but he could get there. Offensively he has great handle, and there was a point in the game tonight when he was matched up against Udrich that the team wanted him to assert himself offensively, but he is still too tentative. Rozier drove it once and hit a sweet three, but in total not enough offense for a kid who could likely provide it. I'm not saying he's untouchable, but I do like the player that he's developing into.
