Not very long ago, the Bulls weren't looking at any backup bigs due to the "glut" of bigs they allegedly had...
Hmm, doesn't seem like much a "glut" right now...

P.S. It also seems like they keep running into the "scrub of the week" going off for their best games, or stretches.
Speights, Amir Johnson, Noah/Rose; Sefolosha... Man, when superstars beat you, fair enough, but damn, these scrubs going off for career nights, what's up with that?

So basically first game all season that Butler doesn't look like a superstar and we already got Rose homers coming in to tell us how bad he is. Folks, your lame agenda doesn't interest anybody here anymore. Take your ish to the Knicks board.

push wrote:Butler is not clutch
Butler has little offensive game other than driving into fouls, if he doesnt get the call its a 50/50 turnover
Butler is a ballstopper that calls for the ball then realizes he has nowhere to go so he does that spin around on his pivot foot thing searching for someone to desperately pass it to
Butler is a worse iso machine than rose was

Even in his good (boxscore) games I didnt like him. Real stars look smooth, they are naturals, every single one of his shots looks like hes forcing 150% of effort and the form is all off and it just looks bad. His game wont evolve well, because it isnt really game. Its extreme but trade him for some good young pieces or firsts and bring in cp3/griffin

I think its clear Fred doesnt belong in NBA. 8-5 record is shameful for talent and how we played this season. We lost ATLEAST 3 games we should have won with good coach. The sooner is gone, the sooner Bulls future will look better.

missed the game so the sour taste of the lost lead isnt in my mouth. But at this point in the season its still encouaging that we can even get that big of a lead on a team playing the best basketball in the West. Give us that lead vs them in March and we close the game.

Truth is the clips are the better team, but the other truth is dem Bulls aint no pushovas! If your name isnt lebron you should be worried about playing a healthy Chicago in the East playoffs.

If we were 3 games better than we are right now, we'd be tied with GSW at 11-2, and I don't remember anyone projecting us to be a contender on paper this season. Yes, there were a couple of disappointing losses early on, but that's been far outweighed by the surprising performance and cohesion of this team. If anything this team has outperformed expectations.

Fred hasn't been perfect, but no coach is. For the most part, I've been happy with how Fred's gone so far this season. It feels like there's a lot of fans on this board and beyond that aren't doing a lot of analysis of Hoiberg's coaching and are instead just looking at it as Bulls win = Fred's good, Bulls lose = Fred sucks.

Why didn't we just try switching the Pick and roll? Nothing else worked, i would've let speights show me his postmoves for a couple of possessions.

So glad I missed that. Still, we've come a long ways from being Knicks/Pacers fodder. And it will be a successful weekend with a win tonight.

Speights doesn't belong on that list of scrubs beating us. He's a scrub, to be sure, because he can't do anything but hit open jump shots. But at that task, he's a Fat Steph Curry. Leave Speights open, he's gonna beat you, and that will be no surprise at all.

What a way to be optimistic there...

Don't see us losing to a bunch of kids. I'm sure that loss pissed Buckets & D-Wade off.

Actually, too bad you did miss it. Really entertaining game with drama until late.
Competing that well with a highly regarded West team in their house, well, then there's that call on Butler.
Total bunk....

Certainly Wade, per his post-game comments. He wants to be the sort of team like the Clippers, than can "scar" opponents by winning like that. He wants to consume some souls, too.

His heart will be willing today ... but his body? Time for some on the bench to step up.

Somebody who is a Rose fan first and Bulls fan second is a Knicks fan, and will be treated as such. You're on this board, you support the laundry. Even if your brother is playing for the opposition.

Bulls are not a perfect team, we have holes, maybe we can consolidate some of our talent to upgrade a position, but either way im happy we are a "competitive" team.

Last season teams would play Chicago and know it was going to be an easy night, doesnt mean they thought they would win, just that it would be a game where they wouldnt have to kill themselves on either side of the floor if they wanted to win.

Not getting all the anger and hate. I guess people have championship aspirations with this roster. It was obvious Hoiberg couldn't have Lopez 30 feet away from the basket on Speights. Portis was the obvious option, even though its not a very good option, but that is a roster issue. The bulls played perfect defense on several possessions only to get get bail out call from the refs.

On a side note, I think Hoiberg's management of timeouts so far this season has been very strong. He has been nipping any bad **** in the bud immediately after it occurs, and always has 1-2 timeouts remaining at the end of close games.

This is the game they missed Doug. You needed a few more points from the bench. But, let's not forget that they were ahead in the 1st half mostly because of insane 3s from Wade.

That said, the Bulls defense has to figure out a way to control these stretch 4s from the bench... Amir Johnson, Speighths have to be controlled. It was a momentum swing when Speighths was going nuts.

Niko and Doug need to be successful for this team to win and hope Doug gets back sooner than later.

And, defense wise, when Taj was leaving his man, that is a new wrinkle on defense. It looked a little clumsy. And, too much switching on defense with guards half the time on Blake. Need to fight through the picks.
