I could see Lopez hanging around for a very long time, a la Pau Gasol. Assuming his injuries are mostly behind him, of course, which is certainly the biggest risk. He's already got an "old man" game.

Yeah... no way he gets a lottery pick... he might have as much of an impact as a Kevin love type of player but given his injury history and his stigma around the league that he doesn't play defense. He won't get much.

You VASTLY underrate Kevin Love, who was putting up 25-12 in his early 20's and unanimously seen as a top 10 player. Not to mention, his price was elevated as the best player in the world said he'd go there if they got Love.

True to an extent but lopez is no slouch either. I mean hes averaging almost 21 and 6 this year and almost 2 bpg. Last year almost 21 and 8 and same bpg. You dont think a team like phoenix or the lakers would give up something interesting for him? Its not like every team in the league has a player that does what he does. His talent is being wasted in brooklyn.

I like where they're at right now. Just hope Brooklyn falls down one more spot and stays there.

I've been thinking a lot about where Brook might land. The one team I keep landing on is HOU. They have Sam Decker and probably a pick in the 20s to offer. Brook would give them a legit big to match up with OKC and SA and advantage against GSW. Decker gives them a young talented F who has been derailed by injury who at worst is a bench role player and should be able to land a very good player with that low to mid 20s pick. This trade only makes sense if done during the season.

I think a clear bottom 4 has been established (along with some noise of teams losing lots of games early on). The teams to REALLY worry about for the Nets pick are Philly, Phoenix and Dallas. Everybody else looks like a 30+ win team (it doesn't take a lot to get there).

Too soon.
Lakers have a tough schedule in front of them and are heavily relying on Nick Young (TS% of 62.4, shooting nearly 80% at the rim) and Lou Wiliams (61.8 TS%, big difference in 3PT% and lower FTr with career numbers). Won't sustain and I expect them to fall quickly.
Miami is a one man show with Whiteside, players like Luke Babbitt and Rodney McGruder are playing big minutes. Even with Goran Dragic back they were defeated by the Sixers last night, potential tank candidate just like Dallas.
Washington is an absolute mess, besides Wall and Gortat that team is very weak. Despite Beal's 42 point game tonight he's an around average player who's earning max money
Think that at least one of these teams will end up in the same tier as Nets, Philly, Dallas and Phoenix.

The Nets are a clear bottom 5 team.
Philly will surprise people-- Embiid continues to develop at an amazing rate and Simmons return will only augment this. I bet they win near 30, especially because the conspiracy theorist believes they're under strict "don't tank" commands from the league.
Washington is too talented to finish below 30 wins without injuries.
Minnesota and New Orleans have supremely talented players who will be looking to win. New Orleans looks like a different team with Jrue, and will improve further with Evans.
I see Dallas, Phoenix and Miami as the serious competition this year. Bottom 5 is all that matters--you're guaranteed a good player and have a legitimate chance at Fultz.

Agreed for the most part but the higher up you go in this draft the better. All it takes is a team to fall in love with a guy and you can pick up a kings randsom to drop down a spot or two and still pick up a blue chip prospect. Getting the number one pick could net a massive haul from a team with a boner for Fultz or Jackson etc

I think you have to be really bad to win less than 30 games, especially since NBA games are heavily weighted toward the home team and each team has 41 of those. Whiteside, Dragic and Winslow move Miami out of really bad territory. A healthy Davis and Holiday move New Orleans out of really bad territory. Wall, Beal and Gortat move Washington out of really bad territory. I agree about the Lakers, but they already have a three game advantage and seem to have decent chemistry. I think one of those four team could join the bottom four; however, I wouldn't peg any of them individually to win less than 30 games.

I hadn't been in here in awhile and was surprised to see BK on a 4 game losing streak. With free agency looking bare and who the hell knows what will happen on the trade market, let's just hope this continues

Otto Porter, Jr. is not weak. He's a late bloomer but you don't average 14.5 and 8 with 2 steals being weak. He's got prototypical size for a SF and is just coming into his own. I'd be pretty happy if Jaylen Brown is giving us similar production. Jae Crowder is constantly lauded around here yet Porter is putting up better numbers than he ever has but he's weak? Morris is also fairly solid albeit streaky. WA has a very solid starting five. I'd say they're just a notch below ours. Their problem is they have maybe the worst bench in the NBA

Pelicans taking it to the Hawks right now early. They seem to have hit their stride getting Jrue back. Would be nice if Denver can help us out tonight as well

AD got hurt chasing after the ball. Courtside seats were empty (it's Atlanta after all) so there was no one to brace his fall. He was gimpy and headed to the locker room right after. Hope it's nothing serious.

It's grim that there are more posts in this thread about tonights NO game than in their game thread. I hope their fans hang out elsewhere and that isn't the true state of the fan base.
