THAT'S WHAT I'VE BEEN SAYING!!

“We talked a lot about what we want to do, how we want to be better,” he said.

It’s unclear what the players talked about during the meeting, but league sources said Courtney Lee and Noah spoke extensively. The guess here is that the offense was one of the topics of conversation. ESPN sources said some New York players expressed displeasure over the triangle offense earlier this month because they feel it doesn't suit their personnel, particularly point guard Rose, who has thrived when using pick-and-rolls.

League sources familiar with the dynamic said the players remained displeased with the triangle as recently as late last week.

One detail that we know about the meeting: the conversation was driven by the players.

kinda interesting

That first tweet about cutters has been the story of my argument for Melo since he's been here. Glad Horny acknowledged it. Every single play where noone cuts is technically an isolation play by default. So then with Melos reputation it becomes. "See, see Melos holding the ball too long and not passing to the open man" rather than "why aren't guys moving to places where Melo can pass it too them as opposed to spreading out and waiting".

Spreading out and waiting is what one does when the player who has the ball is a drive and kick player. Cutting and rotating is what one should do when the player who had the ball is more of a passer from a stand still position such as the post. Yet over and over again what do we see? Melo gets the ball in the side post and guys spreading out waiting for a kick out.

We can talk extensively about what Melo could do instead but if the whole world knows what Melo does, why not just respond to it correctly

this. especially now.
this is a large part of what made the triangle so stagnant last year. nobody would cut.

people think melo getting the ball on the elbow and facing up is a called isolation.

if he has a mismatch, hes gonna bully them in the post or he'll face up, jab, jab, shoot or go around. those are called, yeah.

the others, where they run some motion, get him the ball in the post, he faces up, and everyone just stands there - those are the ones everyones supposed to cut and they just DONT. its like they're in awe of him like they're fans and not actually taking place in the action. its weird. almost video game-like.

A lot of it is just effort. They came out flat in that Wiz game and got spanked. There is no reason this team can't be competitive in every game. The talent is there. The roster has some flaws but the talent is there and they should be in all of their games. It's not like how it has been in other years around here where knicks just didnt' have the talent. Last season for instance the knicks on paper 9 times out of 10 lost the backcourt matchup coming into the game.

He's shown a willingness to pass the ball when guys move, especially when he's doubled. Justin Holiday does an exceptional job finding the open lane and either cutting or fading for the pass. Derrick Williams, Langston Galloway, Landry Fields and Ronnie Brewer were the best I remember on the weakside they constantly moved but never got in his way.

I think Hornacek is going to start installing some HORNS sets with Melo and KP on the elbows, those 2 will feast there and the others should get better from the opportunities these sets will create.

Can't deny that, but they have been worlds better than us as of late and I can't help but think Millsap during this prime would have been the perfect 4 to play with KP when he's ready to play 5 full time

Its probably on every teams scouting report at this point that we are one of the worst defenses. We should get used to this until the Knicks do something about it

Oh of course. I'm not implying we've been better. The Hawks never won anything and have and always will be stuck in mediocrity. I would love to face them in the 1st rd because it'll be another home game for us in ATL since they don't care about the Hawks there.
