Theres a sophomore impressions thread, this could probably just go there. Im just saying cause you may get some hate for this one.

But yes KP has been phenomenal, Knicks lucked out big time on this one

This is gonna get shut down or merged. But another 30 point game for the young lad tonight. He's becoming unstoppable on offense

Man even with not the greatest situation to be in, hes really emerging as a top talent. I see him really hitting his stride next year, legit 20-10 player. so skilled offensively, its great to have more big men like that

Nothing to do with luck. Porzingis was a good prospect from the get go. Knick fans just couldn't get over the Euro aspect of it before he stepped foot on the court.

It's ideal if you ask him. He just said the other say he needs Melo around to take the pressure off. I think sometimes us fans have a vision of the way things should be but it's actually the opposite of whats preferred by the players themselves

He probably meant the fact we were forced to think outside the box of Towns, Russell, Okafor when we slipped to 4

well we can only make assumptions based off of what we see and hear as fans, but I doubt Porzingy would say "**** rose and melo" even if he thought differently. Like you say, he definitely could see the situation as good for him, but in my opinion he could definitely be in a better spot.

I just mean lucked in as in being in the position to draft him, plus having the scouting gawd (Clarence Gaines) give Phil the scoop on him. I believed in him from the get go, as I was always with taking the perceived high risk high reward pick over the safe pick (a lot ofpeople wanted Winston)

It's just incredible that when he has a center or PF on him he could either cross over or shoot ever them, then with sf and guard he could post up and score. He's incredible. Wait until he's the full time center.

This guy is playing allstar level right now. 21/7 on .600 ts%. Doesn't get better than this.

Defense needs to improve though.

It would be a mistake to play him at center. His best spot is PF.

Melo has been an absolutely great mentor for Kristaps, Melo is a great pro and like the poster before me said, helps to alleviate a lot of the pressure off of the kids' shoulders.

he can't chase stretch fours. He defends better in the paint. Plus he'll grab a crap load of rebounds rather than defending the 3 line.

Also to your other comment, he's been playing great defensively. Like I said he has trouble guarding the three. He's great man on man and I'm the pain. Center is his natural position now that he added some muscle in his legs, a little more in his upper body and he's golden.

He's gonna be a C one day. Maybe not yet but defensively he's better on Cs rather than trying to chance around these mobile 4 men the league has nowadays. That's the main reason he's struggling defensively

He looked phenomenal tonight.

His confidence is growing by leaps and bounds.

This is only the beginning. That's what is incredible.

I just hope he stays healthy.

His defense has started to come around lately. He's already been pretty good at being a rim protector, but now he's not closing out nearly as wildly as he did in the beginning of the year, which has helped. He's made some nice adjustments. He still should not be guarding 3s one on one, though.

IDK, he looks a little lost on defense at times. Doesn't seem to know his spot and what he should be doing.

That's OK. He's only 21 and he seems to have the right attitude. I'm sure he will get better there.

Seeing how NY uses Porzingis makes me jealous as a Pacers fan.

Not that I want Turner to be used in the same way, but the Knicks look to get Porzingis involved, the Pacers all tend to ignore Turner. Whenever we do go to him, he tends to deliver, then they just go right back to ignoring him after.

Either way, I'm really hope Porzingis and Turner can reignite the Hicks vs Knicks rivalry.
