lol no chance
right? people really need to stop with the Jame Young and a 2019 first for established big men. Nobody, including the Celtics, want James Young. The only reason he is on the team is because Danny is embarrassed by the pick and his inability to replace him these past couple of years so he's trying to justify him being on the team.
Come on, he had a great game a week or two ago and everyone was up his ass. He's fine. He's still a good prospect- a better one now that he's matured. His floor is being Gerald Green caliber- takes awhile to get it, uneven, but becomes a useful bench scorer. Those guys are easy to get, but he has the potential to be better than that.
It probably won't happen here, may not happen at all. But this board loves to write off young players, it's happened with Avery, Smart, Rozier. Meanwhile a lot of you believed in Sullinger without any hesitation.
You kind of have to stay in the uncertainty of not knowing how young players are going to turn out in order to gauge their chances. Writing people off, or writing them a blank check, can color your perceptions.
/Maybe the whole league does think Young is a POS, I don't know. And Dion Waiters has had fourteen chances and still struggles.
I'm old enough to remember the 2001 draft, how long it took the players in it to develop, how many surprised and disappointed. The younger a draft pick is, the more often they exceed expectations.
