same here, gave him C. Would be D before Atlanda and Portland games, A is reserved for win vs cleveland in conference finals, we're a super team after all :D

I think you guys are being ridiculously harsh. Tell me that when the season started you wouldn't have signed up for a 500 record after 14 games. Did either of you expect us to be better right now?

We have 10 new players on our roster. 5 of those guys have never played in the NBA before. Guys are just learning how to play with each other. Its a process, not something that happens at game one.

I think Horny is doing a great job and this team is only going to get better as time goes on
All in all he's just another prick with no wall

hornacek the best coach since larry brown

doesn't take him forever to find the right rotation, he plays the hot hand, and uses timeouts to stop momentum/when the team is poop.

This team could have two All Star players in Melo & KP6, we also have real NBA talent on the roster. lot of forum members thought we could even be a 3rd -5th seed. Lets look at our flaws, sub par defense so far and only 1 win this whole season on the road. as I said we are a 7-7 team. That is a C grade.

What an absurdly simplistic way of grading Horny. So glad you're not my professor.

Not sure how he knows this but if true, boooooooooom!

Jeff is doing a solid job but he needs to get melo's AST% up to where it was last season. He has better players around him so that excuse is a bit negated. Where are the assists?

Wow if that's true that is pretty impressive. I remember some crazy stat during Fisher's tenure that the Knicks lead the league in 5 second violations coming out of timeouts.

Yes he's only .500 but but we've currently won 4 of our previous 5 games despite this being his 1st year with N.Y consisting of 5 rookies (Ndour, Plumlee, Baker, Kuzminskas & Hernangomez). Another 5 players in which weren't here last season (Rose, Lee, Jennings, Holiday & Noah). K.P is also only a 2nd year player while his veteran star in Anthony's still adjusting to newer teammates. Just now getting a feel for his lineup and rotations as well.

I'd say he's at least done a B job thus far and imo would be a B+ with improved defensive play.

There are currently 19 teams with .500 or below records and no team has had as much turnover than that of N.Y; he's exceeding expectations (early on).

Whoooooo... we are .500 team and Horny deserves Coach of the year, Phil deseves GM of the Year and KP6 & Melo deserve co-MVP awards.

Now where our miiddle of the road trophy for being 7-7?

WoW.... lot of the forum Knicks base ...must have won a ton of participation trophies & think they mean something special.

If this topic was on the general board, sure you see a run away with a C grade for Horny.

I think the GB is as unnecessarily pessimistic on the Knicks as this board is overly optimistic (outside of the hoodwinked/tank crowd). Maybe a combined C+/B- would be more accurate.

hyperbole the friend of the illogical...so you're either a C worthy coach or COY...and since when is the GB an accurate barometer of Knicks talent..

I'd give him a A so far. Takes a lot to get 15 folks working as a team. Especially when most of them haven't worked together before, and several are in their rookie year. .500 and trending up is a good place to be at this point.

I graded him a B but there's still time for others to get to that point. Can't fault anyone for expecting more than 500 though. We got talent so it shouldn't be outta the question to see a C. I get the reasoning of a new team but again, there's talent here. Horny just had to, and still had to get us to a point of chemistry where we can best utilize it
