I 100% agree.

That appeared to be clean as a whistle.

Hornets lost their damn minds at the end including Clifford. Easily 8 major mistakes that had nothing to do with the refs.

Very uncharacteristic closing. Those Frank TOs were brutal.

It was like the stage was too big for Frank or something?

Totally sh*t the bed.

Bad night for us compared to other EC playoff level teams. Boston, Atlanta, Detroit, Cleveland, Toronto all won. Only Pacers lost.

I'm fine, Frank is definitely growing and that was a good learning experience. I was impressed with our play, execution isn't going to be an issue with this team. Good game, stuff to learn but when we're healthy and clicking we're going to be for real.

You do realize that happened with about 9 minutes left, right?

At least Ramon didn't stand out as being terrible, right? Right? Yeah, silver linings!

to focus on something more positive, I love the fact that the team played on national TV. when's the last time that has happened in real circumstances (besides the playoffs)? there was the season-closing game on ESPN the year we went 34-48 with Cliff, but that didn't even feel real. Toronto was resting its players, we also were playing guys like Vonleh (who had his career game, btw).

and I think the time before that was the final nail in the coffin against NYK for our 7-59 team on TNT. that's also an iffy one.

we'll have two more this regular season against the Warriors and the Pacers.

I really enjoyed Doug Collins doing the color. you can just always tell that the man is a basketball lifer. did a great job at breaking down the team for the national audience, knew everything about the players and the style the team plays.

Mark Jones constantly engaging Collins in conversations about Spencer Hawes was funny as well. he did the typical announcer Collins move by saying that he absolutely loves the guy and that he played great for him when coach Collins was probably blasting Hawes every other week back then. and I'm saying that with the utmost respect that I have for Doug Collins.

(and it's not like he could have said anything else.. but it's still funny. reminds me of stuff like Collins praising Kwame to the media but then blasting him a couple of days later as well)

For those who can stomach a final 5 minute postmortem I'd recommend checking it out as an example of why coaches usually reserve judgement until after viewing the tape. Except try to avoid seeking blame or confirmation - instead pretend you're the coach compiling teaching tools to help the players improve.

Between defensive awareness, possession ending plays (or potential), mental lapses, and time-score I counted 12 such tools (including you the coach!). The 1st happened right @ 5:00 but most of the opportunities were < 3:30.
