Ball looks like a perfect player for Suns. Lots of assists while having low usage and turnovers, super-efficient scoring, great defense and rebounding.
Ball-Booker-TJ-Bender-? lineup would be perfect :D

Ball could be like a poor man's JKidd with Lavine athleticism and combo skills if he irons out wonky shooting mechanics

Changing it now would be strictly cosmetic. So far it looks quick and he's been just as accurate with it here as he was in high school. Shooting high clips from everywhere on the floor. They play Texas A&M today on ESPN for anybody that wants to get more than a highlight package from him.

Also Lonzo is a pure pass first PG nothing combo guard about his game at all. Only thing he has in common with LaVine is a UCLA Jersey and height.

Ive never seen him play but i like the profile of French Frank. 6'5 pg with a nearly 7 foot wingspan whos pass first and plays good D.

Lonzo Ball is fun to watch. He is defiantly a pass first PG but can score in bunches too. You have to be a great passer when you played HS Ball with your 2 brothers on the team.

If Dunn were in this draft he would be the 4th or 5th point guard drafted.

Lonzo makes his team better, he's a true point guard that we've wanted since Steve left. But Ball will be much better defensively that Steve could ever dream.

I'm also all over the Lonzo Ball hype right now, he looks really impressive right now and would pair up great with Booker in the back court. At this point it's tough to pick who I'd like to see in a Suns jersey the most next year between him, Fultz, and Jackson.

Ball with 16/10/5/3 blocks, used is size very well on defense.. Started 1-6 but finished 6-14
Right now ball would be my choice, but its a long season. Ball makes the smart pass, doesn't try to be flashy very often.

It's still early, but there's looking to be a lot of really good players in this draft. Absolutely crazy.
SHAZAM!

Suns traded Mikal Bridges, Cam Johnson, Jae Crowder and 4 1st round picks and a swap so some Vegas Bookies would like us.

I think Smith's been ignored because of his size. He's fluid, has good handles, capable shooter, can pass the ball... But i'm pretty anxious to see Duke's injured freshmen play. Only then we could start to slowly paint the drafting picture.

Pardon my ignorance, but I remember a story about Shabazz Muhammad picking UCLA because that's where he would be able to show his abilities better (as in face weaker competition and be a main weapon for his team).

Is that something to be concerned about Ball? That he is being overhyped because of the situation he is being put in?

Nope. Ball is good because Ball is good. The only real questions with him coming in were about how consistent his shot would be and if he could get it off at this and the next level. the other major question was can his game translate to a more normalized setting than the one he played in in high school. Can he run a half court offense.

He's answered all those questions in my opinion. Been better in the half court than I expected, the shot has been quick and consistent, nothing forced, no lack of confidence in it either. the rest of his game translates perfectly fine. He thrives in transition but he's not limited to it. His on-ball and help defense has been good though he still needs to navigate through picks better. His understanding of defenses and spacing, the timing on his passes, his ability to see frames ahead and force the defense to move is already at a high tier NBA level.

I will say that the situation at UCLA personnel wise is ideal for Lonzo's skillset but his translation to the league is not limited by it.

Wouldn't say ignored. Dennis checked all the boxes well before he got hurt and then re-checked the explosion box after his recovery. Only thing with him now is can he stay healthy. Folks pretty much know everything there is to know about him so unless he starts to show signs of his injury affecting him there's no real need to say much. He's a top 3-5 depending on who's picking come June. Name isn't ringing with the casuals because he's not at a big time program compared to the other kids in his class.

NC State plays Illinios on ESPNU today I believe btw if anybody wants to see the kid in action. Bring popcorn.

Yes, even if that Lakers pick is, say 10th, that's still going to be a damn good pick to have. Almost as good as Brandon Knight.

Josh Jackson ranks first in Chad Ford's Top 100 for the 2017 NBA Draft ahead of Markelle Fultz and Lonzo Ball.

Dennis Smith, Harry Giles, Jayson Tatum, Jonathan Isaac, Malik Monk, Miles Bridges and Frank Ntilikina round out the top-10.

Draft Express has Fultz, Smith, Tatum, Jackson and Giles as their top-5 in that order. http://www.draftexpress.com/rankings/Top-100-Prospects/

1. Josh Jackson
2. Markelle Fultz
3. Lonzo Ball
4. Dennis Smith
5. Harry Giles
6. Jayson Tatum
7. Jonathan Isaac
8. Malik Monk
9. Miles Bridges
10. Frank Ntilikina
11. Lauri Markkanen
12. Ivan Rabb
13. De'Aaron Fox
14. OG Anunoby
15. Jarrett Allen
16. Edrice Adebayo
17. Marques Bolden
18. Tony Bradley
19. Omer Yurtseven
20. Terrance Ferguson

I kinda want the Lakers to barely miss the playoffs so the trade doesn't look as bad
