I think I remember this being a trap game last year. Temple destroyed us, and we lost.

We can't get into any flow offensively with this unit.

Why is this unit still on the floor after the timeout? Jeez.

We also face the Kings twice in the near future. I think it's time Yabu pays back some of that free money he's been given his entire career and bounces Fox for a nice 2 week ankle sprain.

We have a small lead, but to me it feels like it could all fall apart at any minute.

This is our first back to back in a while, and it shows.

Joerger runs a lineup that's not working into the ground and then when he decides to make a sub it's just Lawson for Collison. What is going on?

The lineup tinkering has hit a new level today. One thing about Joerger is that he's certainly determined to accomplish whatever it is he's going for.

Maybe it's the Kings not being a great draw on the road but every Wizards game they play is such a somber occasion. It's like the audience had to be bribed to show up. haha.

I can say this one isn't on Cousins. Says a lot about his improved conditioning in recent seasons when he's the only one able to get arc and distance on his shots. Every other shot I've seen has been flat and hits the front of the iron, not to mention the lazy passes and ball-handling.

Edit: I guess Cousins is feeling tired now after two clunkers at the free throw line.

With Cousins' recent remarks about Sacramento and John Wall, perhaps the Kings aren't on such a time crunch on winning as previously thought? The Kings just basically gave one away for the sake of experimentation so it better be true.

Meh, I think it is just pure talk. Cousins only has 2 years left (this season and next season) on his contract. Would he really resign here if Sacramento has nothing to show by the end of this season or next season? I doubt it.

Ironically I put a lot of this on Cousins. There were particular stretches in the middle of the game where he should have really taken over and dominated the game to bring us some separation. Instead he kept rushing things and taking terrible shots.

That being said, the majority of the blame lies with Joerger. The lineup he ran for the first half of the fourth was patently inexcusable. It's not rocket science that you don't sit your two best scorers for the first six minutes of the fourth. Its as if he was trying to throw the game to be honest.

Another thing that really stood out is how badly we need an actual PF on the roster. No spacing with Koufos but when we slot Barnes he gets routinely bullied by opposing PF's as was the case tonight against Morris who dominated him on the glass.

Sugar coating aside, this should have been a blow out win for any half decent team. The Wizards hardly looked interested in playing.

I don't know, those comments certainly seemed like there is a thought about the long term future in Sac for Cuz. It's been fairly demonstrated that Cuz seems to be a very loyal individual. Right now the best bet might be an offer in his next contract that any time he wants out he gets it whether it be via player options or a trade destination of his choosing.

Some of the things Joerger is doing make much more sense if the feeling is that their backs aren't so far up against the wall in terms of winning before Cuz bolts. If that's what is going on then what we are seeing is no question of the showcasing variety and attempting to set the team up for this summer when they can add Bogdan and maybe some other pieces if not another lotto pick should they not have to give that up to the Bulls.

That last part is what bothered me. The Wiz were going half speed the whole game and the Kings and in particular Joerger matched it with lineup tinkering that saw both Cuz and Collison hit the bench for extended stretches in the first half which is where the Kings need to be doing their damage on the road.

Pity as the three overtime losses make the difference between 7-11 and 10-8.
The supporting cast isn't supporting very well.
