Personally I would never do this but just for fun:

Booker, Len, 2018 Miami 1st (top 7 protected) to Kings
Knight, Chriss, 2017 Suns 1st (unprotected), 2019 Suns 1st (top 5 protected), 2021 Miami 1st (unprotected) to Wizards
Cousins, Wall to Suns

Wall/Ulis
Bledsoe/Barbosa
Warren/Tucker
Dudley/Bender
Cousins/Chandler

Kentucky friends reunited

If Suns were to somehow sign Cousins, they would also have to upgrade the PF position. No way Boogie would be content playing with Marquis Chriss as starting PF. Although not at his prime, a defensive PF who can shoot 3's like Serge Ibaka would be ideal to pair with Cousins.

Bledsoe
Booker
Cousins
Ibaka
SF? (Warren is probably traded)

Looking at what a few other superstars hauled in (Paul, Howard) I think this would be a fair deal.

Phx out: Chriss, Knight, Tucker, Phx 17 1st (top 5), Heat 18 1st, Heat 21 1st (top 3), 17 and 18 2nd round picks.

Phx in: Cousins, Caspi, McLemore

That's one I'd easily do (with a commitment to re-sign), and I've never been a huge proponent of trading for him. But there is a good chance we'd keep our pick this year, though I guess we might lose it if Boogie suddenly made us that much better. Maybe best case scenario would be that deal at the deadline and we ended up playing competitively the rest of the season but still got a top 5 pick and premier PG. Then next year it becomes unprotected but we should be much better by then.

From what I see on that trade board though, I don't think that would be enough. Have you seen this thread? viewtopic.php?f=2&t=1493269

I didn't see that until now and I guess I'm way off on value. Although I can't believe Cousins would get that much more than CP3 or Howard. And I'd give the Kings the same treatment as the Lakers gave us, protect the 1st from us for 3 years, top 5, top 3, top 3, unprotected. That way they for sure are eventually getting that pick.

I think that is super excessive in that trade thread, and I_Socrates, who I guess is a Suns fan (not sure because he doesn't post here) doesn't seem to watch our players enough to assess their value, because he vastly underrates them. No way I'd come close to doing that original offer, and if we gave up a package like that, especially without a guarantee to re-sign (which you can kind of take with a grain of salt with most people, but probably moreso Cousins) and no way I would do it.

I don't think he will ultimately command that unless there are multiple teams that REALLY want him. I think many might, but I don't know what Sacramento will want in return. Most assume they want picks and young players, but they've had picks and young players for years, and their fans seem to think management will want a package that gives them guys that are really good right now. So in that case, it may be wide open and they may rather have a really solid near all star along with some solid role players above a bunch of prospects, role players and picks.

I mean if they want a bunch of good players, I think Denver and Portland could give up a bunch of good players and picks. Portland could give up CJ McCollum, and some of their other players and a couple of picks. Denver, I've mentioned before could give up two of Murray/Barton/Chandler/Harris, and one of Nurkic/Jokic and even a young guy like Juancho Hernangomez and they also have Memphis first rounder and their's...they don't really need more picks either...they have tons of good young guys and two good bigs...they just need that centerpiece.

I think Denver should be the team they should trade with. You might not know how good guys like Barton are unless you play fantasy, but he's really good. Wilson Chandler is really balling if they want a vet. They could also throw Gallinari in if they wanted. Even Mudiay if they think Jamal Murray can play the point, and of course we all saw what a beast Jameer Nelson still is yesterday.

Cousins won't be a free agent until 2018 but he is currently adamant about wanting to remain with the Kings. Wall won't be a free agent until 2019.

"He wants me here," said Cousins about Wall. "Eric (Bledsoe) wants us in Phoenix.,"

Hmmmmm.... how long does currently last?

Is there some sort of source/link for that? Not that it means much. I assume by "here" Cousins means Washington considering they played tonight in Washington and of course Bledsoe wants him here. I don't think any of those things are secrets. It is odd to see he is adamant about wanting to return to the Kings, but no surprise Bledsoe and Wall want to play with him.

Suns have become UK west in many respects. Lots of Kentucky love in draft and trades. Maybe UK alum have taken notice! Lol

And it gives some credence to the idea that Bledsoe would make phoenix an attractive landing spot for Cousins.

I get the feeling Boogie is the only player that honestly wants to play with Bledsoe. I just don't feel that Bledsoe makes the Suns an attractive landing spot.

They (especially Wall) don't strike me as the kinda guys that would be willing to make monetary concessions to play together.

Maybe so but the quote makes it clear that Boogie has some interest in teaming up with Bledsoe. If the Suns were to trade for Cousins that connection could influence both his general attitude about playing in Phoenix and in turn resigning with the team.

Cousins is going to get traded at some point over the next nine months and the Suns are in the running.
