This sucks. I hate this for Memphis and hate it even more that it happened against us. In a bizarre turn of events, it was MKG who delivered the blow on Conley that caused the chain reaction of events.

Conley was taking a charge, like a champ. MKG was out of control. I hope Kemba never gets punished like this for putting his body on the line like he does so often.

I'll be honest, on paper I really thought a Marv - Frank pairing would work well, especially against small ball lineups.

Yeah and I wouldn't necessarily lay that on Marv amd Frank. Perhaps lineup construction and repetition on defense along with perimeter length issues. Marvin going from 1st switches to 2nd unit coverage is a significant change, as is Frank going to C. Over their 50-ish minutes together I've noticed a few times FK funneling drives baseline and passing off help to the Center, which, you know.....

I also prefer MKG and Frank together on offense with the 2nd unit. MKG obviously can't shoot like Marco but his movement is a semi-replacement. The dual Post Up option is also something to build on if teams are jacking with cross-matchups or want to stick a wing on Kemba.
