Jackson Cleared to Play

He can go when he feels he's ready. Medical restriction lifted. Return to depend on how he feels and getting a little practice with the team.

Welp, we'll see how we look I guess.

At least RJ is known to be a 4th quarter player, although a lot of games we've been getting blown out from the start, especially road. If he can provide a miracle to our putrid road game record, then that'd be more than anything.

Great f--king news! It will take him awhile to get in the flow and for the team to adjust, but this is great news. I feel like our season is now actually starting.

He should play right away - 15 mpg should be doable from the jump.

Couldn't agree more, as far as I'm concerned the game where he returns will be our season opener. Pretty hyped to watch our full team.

He's coming from an injury, so if he got one or two bad games I think is a reasonable thing. Anyway, all these delusional psychos would claim we're the s**t and we should trade everyone for players who have never reached Playoffs. I can't understand that loser mentality, it's an unhealthy inferiority complex.

The Pistons play their next three games on the road -- at Charlotte, Boston and Atlanta -- starting Tuesday night.

Could Jackson play during the trip?

"I'm not counting on it," Van Gundy said. "(The medical staff) will let me know. I haven't had any indication. He looks fine playing. But his stamina is going to be an issue."

It looks like he'll come back when we are 8-13 or 9-12. I expect we'll be a game or two out of the 8th spot at that point in time. Nothing too arduous to work back from.

Looking forward to the reactions when he comes out flat for a few games.

Looking forward to this big time! He makes others better, especially andre, and knows how to win. Looking forward to seeing him threaten the rim, and open up andre. Looking forward to the 2 man game with he and harris that was starting to develop. And going into 4th quarters confident.

Good points about Reggie's stamina and possibly being flat the first couple games. We've seen this issue in the past, because of asthma or whatever else... he'll definitely need to time to get his conditioning up to game speed. And I'm sure this board will overreact :)

Yeah, he's going to be extremely rusty, and that's not even accounting for his lack of stamina to play big minutes which we've seen last season.

But it should be fun seeing the differences between a Ish/Beno run offense vs a RJ one. I know it's going to frustrate me when RJ ignores the open man again, which to be fair to RJ, in this offense isn't how it's done.

I would give him mins off the bench for 3 or 4 games and go from there.

He's gotta be with the starters. First 5-6 minutes or so. Use 3 pg's for a stretch (not together).

Think I like this approach better. We need to be converging towards our regular rotations, even if it's only for short spurts, not adding more lineups by bringing Reggie off the bench.

Will be interesting to see how SVG handles it tho

I love how SVG is not rushing him forcing him to prove it in practice. Some coaches throw their star players right into the fire
