I like seeing Cuban saying his mavs won't tank, even though he even said that could change. Cuban is more competitive than most and may have his team keep fighting, even though I think they shoyld definitely look to bottom out.
I definitely think Riley will pull a tankaroo.

I think the Suns deserve the top pick for how they've refused to tank last year and from what I've seen have still been playing hard. It sure would be nice to see them win a couple in a row.
I agree that Orlando should be feared too. It doesn't look like they have any direction.

Suns were tanking last year. Brandon Knight was out for months with a groin strain.
Handsome.

Danny Ainge has drafted about 60 guys at all positions and ages and countries at this point. You can't really make sweeping generalizations anymore because there are enough players to craft any argument.
A team I'm actually concerned about is Orlando. Wouldn't be surprised to see a Hennigan sacking and a sell off of players. They're a mess. Easy schedule and some luck the only reasons they have 6 wins right now. I'm looking at it as them doing a switcheroo with the Lakers so it's a net neutral.
Hennigan's job is on the line. Another poor showing this year and he likely gets fired. They're far more likely to make a shortsighted move to win meaningless games. Washington is another team in this situation with Grunfeld.

Philly - not enough talent
Miami - if Dragic is traded and Whiteside sits with fanton injury
Sacramento - if Cousins is traded
Pelicans- if Davis gets injured
+
Brooklyn.
That imo is bottom 5.
Maybe:
Lakers - doubt they are as good as their record
Phoenix - should be better based on talent
Others I'm not worried about being worst than Brooklyn.

Miami could def tank, Dragic might be difficult to move and it's difficult to sit young players like Whitside and Winslow, who don't really need rest and want to play everynight. If Cousins is trade for a rebuilding package they risk not only giving a high lottery pick to Philly next season but could end up swapping their pick this year if they end up the worse team. Big reason why Cousins might not be traded or if he is the package might include win now pieces. Pelicans didn't have Holiday or Evans to start the season and are showing they're a much better team with Holliday back. I would really just worry about the Mavs, Philly, Miami, and Phoenix. Though a healthy Simmons and Embiid could win a few games for Philly I wouldn't be surprised to se Embiid sit every other night and Simmons taking the season off.

Everyone said this is why he was going to draft Dunn last year. There is a coherent argument you can make with Danny Ainge's drafting post Bradley, but this ain't it.
Dunn is an offensive player. He never fit the mold of what Danny was looking for unless a trade was in play. The emphasis is defense from the wings. Dunn is not a defensive wizard like Smart. He would be redundant on the Celtics. Smart was drafted to replace Bradley and Brown was drafted so Ainge could try and find a Giannis clone. Jackson will be a Celtic if he's on the board. Book it.
Dunn was the best defensive guard in the draft, and perhaps the best defensive guard prospect since Smart. That's in part IMO why we passed - his skillset was quite similar to Smart's.

I don't think they are going to sit embiid that much longer. They're supposed to re evaluate at Christmas and embiid is already pushing for more minutes. If they did try to pull any funny business with embiid he would call the 76ers organization out to the world

He had a better offensive makeup than Smart. Had a better jump shot. Just was a more complete talent coming out of college. However, he is older so maybe the room to grow isn't nearly as much. I certainly think Dunn is a much safer bet than Brown. Brown has more upside because of his youth and ceiling. But with Dunn you had the best PG prospect to come out of the draft in a while IMO. He's not as good defensively as Smart and very few are but he's better offensively.

They aren't 1:1 replicas, but they were similar - having watched literally every single one of Dunn's games during his college career, I can tell you he was and is a great defensive prospect, but very much an unfinished product offensively. He struggles to convert at the rim, is a shaky FT shooter, his jumper is incredibly inconsistent, and at times he gets tunnel vision going to the rim. He's also an excellent defensive player and a plus-plus rebounder for a guard. That's more or less the same write-up as Smart. He's not as versatile defensively as Smart, and he's a better ballhandler/passer by a wide margin, but on the whole they are fairly interchangeable prospects.
Ultimately that and the fact that Brown has a higher ceiling and more natural fit on the roster made the pick easy for Ainge in retrospect I am sure. That Dunn hasn't come in and been an immediate impact guy only solidifies the decision IMO. And this is coming from a guy who really, really wanted Dunn in Green.

It's almost as if he's key piece of our future with a polarizing skill set or something.

The Mavs don't need to tank. The wheels already fell off.
Post-achilles Matthews, old D-Will, Bogut and Barea, ancient gimpy Dirk, Harrison Benzo Barnes as go-to guy...
Winning 40+ last year was a miracle.

I will let the masses decide. Thoughts? Although I feel we could end up with egg on our face if the Cs end up with the 10 pick. Is karma real

I would vote to skip the sticky. No need - it's not going to fall off the front page (unless things happen such that we want it to...).
But, want to make a stealth vote for sticking Parliament's draftees thread, so we can track all our yoots in one place.

LOL I was just going to post this. During/after every Brooklyn game, someone posts on this thread anyway. As long as you don't listen to this idiot who goes on a blind panic every time the Nets win, I'm cool.

Not much going on for noteable pick watch games. Nets travel to LA to face the clips. Doc and friends should take care of business. Lakers play the Pelicans and I believe one other team is playing tonight let me double check
Edit - Orlando plays San Antonio, maybe they can steal one although I'm not hopeful

Clips are the ones going to New York. Early tipoff. But either way, this should be a win for them. Extra pissed after two straight losses (incl. blowout L against PG-less Pacers).
EDIT: Griffin not playing. Pierce starting.
