Knowing what we know about 4 games in 5 night, team "lucky to get 3 hours of sleep" and a winnable mavs game on Thursday, should Clifford gone anti-Rainman and rested some of the starters?

Gotta give our players the Al Jefferson's pot treatment.

With Marv hurt I think Cliff is trying to find a way to get Hawes time while also seeing if Hibbert can be an improvement in the rotation. Cliff has some roster juggling to do when Marv comes back.

Re: GT: Charlotte vs Detroit 11/29 7PM EST
Highlights from Cliff's presser:
People tired but that's not a valid excuse. We were right in it at the half, then came out flat in the second half and had nothing.
Concerned that we're 5-5 at home and 1-3 on the second night of a B2B.
Marv is day to day, hard to evaluate how long he'll be out until the swelling and soreness goes away and he's back to working out.
Frank played poorly, was a tough matchup for him, but he's been playing better and better. Defense still a challenge, and now that he's playing against starters it's even harder for him.
If we want to go to the playoffs, have to go .500 on the road and have to win at home. We can get there, but we have to start winning at home.
Have to get where we can play consistently on offense, defense, and on the boards, that's something they've preached every season. 2013-14 team, everyne disagrees with him, but he thinks they did a great job playing consistently. Watched the film that season and he was proud of how they did that, they were just limited offensively and didn't have a high talent level. This season, this is the most talent we've had. We're not in playing groups yet, need to get Marvin back. We need to figure out how to get Roy more involved and need to figure out our wing rotation, but we can't do that until everyone is healthy.
We also need better individual intensity from some guys. Guys play really well one night and then you look out and we are 45 seconds in and we're like "he's not ready." None of the great players play like that.

I missed this one. The Nets actually played a competitive game and, cough, won, against the Clippers of all teams. And then I see that it didn't go well tonight. But did Lamb get hurt again?
OK, right knee contusion. Sucks.

I would like to see Roy touch the ball more with the 2nd unit. Just playing hot potato doesn't really work since defense are just guarding the 2 guys on the floor that can shoot (Marco and Jeremy). Roy has displayed some nifty passing and scoring ability in the high post, might as well try to work him into a threat that the shooters can play off of instead of just being a screen and roll big (toothless) or occasional post up (defenses live with it).

Brother Dave said he wants Roy to be more involved.
Just quoting this for prosperity.

Wonder who he is referring to here. Process of elimination:
Kemba: Nope. Kid plays balls out all the time.
Bats: Maybe. The difference between him playing passive and aggressive is very noticeable.
MKG: Nope. Same as Kemba.
Marv: Hasn't been shooting well but still gives 100%.
Cody: Nope. Same as Kemba and MKG.
Sessions: Not playing great, but seems to play with consistent energy.
Marco: Seems consistent.
Lamb: Had two great games in a row. Was invisible last night before the knee.
Frank: Looked awful to start the 2nd half and tentative - so maybe him.
Hawes: His play swings from Hawesome to Hawful but his intensity is there.
Roy: I never really notice Doc out there - but he seems to put work in down in the paint.
So was this a shot at Bats, Lamb and Frank?

I think it was a shot at Batum. He played really soft defense, gave up 4 points and had a TO in the first minute.

Well he doesn't really do anything otherwise but alter shots at the rim. He might as well be a bigger, much slower version of Bismack out there. Just replace good screen setting with occasional mid range jump shots. It's like we're playing Big Al in the Zeller role.

Lamar does a good job highlighting why the Hornets are giving up so many 3PTA, maybe wide open.

I definitely think Cliff is talking about Batum. He is the one who has noticeably slow starts and tends to coast on defense in early parts games.

first play of the game, kcp destroys him on a curl and gets an open lay up. batum just jogging behind him. this has been the book on batum since his portland days, he often needs something to get him going to play at 100% intensity.

Re: GT: Charlotte vs Detroit 11/29 7PM EST
He was generally way better in Portland, but that was most of his role. His role in offense changed with Stotts, yet he was still the defensive alter ego of Matthews at the wings.
During last game, he looked 'robotic', way too slow to react, lethargic in other word. At his position, it is not normal that he never gets foul. He is often running back in transition defense (that used to be one of his strength) yet his sense of 'sacrifice' is really poor.
Anyway, the lack of intensity during 1st halves can be confirmed by the number of committed fouls and the provoked turnovers. As far as i remember the whole Hornets team commited a stellar.. 2 fouls during the 1st half and they only had like 3 turnovers.
For me the intensity problem does not stem from Batum, i think most players are concerned except MKG and Cody. Other players also have to "protect" them, as they can get into early foul trouble and derail the team's chemistry.
But to get batum's going, maybe the best would be to set some post up plays for him early in game, so that he does not sum up his game to some lazy passes to cody on the pnr and spot up 3's. His midrange is really good, right now what i see is a lack of confidence and a staff that has not kicked his butt hard enough to wake him up and remind him that people and his teamates were relying on him to bring something else than average plays and focus.
