I think the idea is to do that with all big sporting events.

A craft brewery could anchor the downtown entertainment center being proposed by the Milwaukee Bucks, according to a new filing with the Department of City Development.
The filing, known as a detailed plan development, provides design plans for the entertainment center, which Bucks affiliate Deer District LLC will develop east of N. 4th St., between W. Highland and W. Juneau avenues. The center will replace a former city-owned parking structure that Deer District is demolishing.
The detailed plan development filing doesn't name which restaurants, taverns and other businesses will locate in the entertainment center. However, it does outline the facility's height, amount of space and other details.
The possible brewery is mentioned as part of the details about how the entertainment center will activate the surrounding streets.
That activation will include a "highly visible transparent building showcasing large-scale brewing equipment" facing both N. 4th St. and W. Juneau Ave., the filing said. Renderings included with the filing show what appear to be fermentation tanks among that equipment.
Deer District is "having preliminary talks with a number of potential partners" about the entertainment center, but isn't yet ready to name any those businesses, said Jake Suski, senior vice president of communications and broadcast.
The entertainment center will feature three buildings, separated by two public walkways, totaling 104,000 square feet, according to the filing.
The building that will include the possible brewery is the largest. It will have up to four stories and will be next to a year-round beer garden within a covered pedestrian walkway in the middle of the development.
That walkway will run between the two larger buildings, from N. Old World Third St. to an outdoor plaza west of the entertainment center. The plaza will replace one closed block of N. 4th St. and will connect the entertainment center to the future Bucks arena.
A shorter walkway, connecting N. 4th St. to W. Highland Ave., runs between the middle building and a smaller building on the site's southern portion. Deer District's plans show both of those building with two stories.
The city filing contains more details and renderings than what the Bucks and Deer District released to the Journal Sentinel and other news media on Nov. 16.
The new information includes plans for overhead-style doors that will be opened to allow restaurants and taverns to create continuous indoor and outdoor seating. Those doors will face N. 4th St. and W. Highland Ave.
Also, the building facades will use exposed steel and glass window walls "to echo industrial detailing of older warehouse and brewery buildings," the filing said.
The detailed plans are scheduled to undergo Plan Commission review on Monday, and Common Council review in January.
Deer District plans to begin construction next spring, and open the entertainment center, along with the new arena, in fall 2018.
Deer District is building the Bucks arena west of N. 4th St., just north of the BMO Harris Bradley Center. The $524 million project, including a new parking structure north of W. Juneau Ave. and east of N. 6th St., features $250 million in state, county and city funds.
The entertainment center is being privately financed.
The Common Council previously approved general conceptual plans for the entertainment center and agreed to close one block of N. 4th St. for the outdoor plaza. Detailed design plans for the plaza will undergo a separate council review.

St. Louis Ballpark Village located next to Busch Stadium III has a 40 foot LED screen that attracts crowds for every major sporting event. It creates an arena-like atmosphere. It would be the go-to spot for Bucks, Badgers, Packers, Brewers, games, much less NCAA BB, NFL Playoffs etc. The downtown bars that attract TV viewers would be hurt, but overall downtown traffic would increase.

Yeah, I agree. I really don't see the appeal. Would much rather more common area, art work, or screens. But I would never call my tastes main stream so if this gets people excited I'm all for it.

To be fair, those tanks don't really look 3D. Maybe they're just pictures of tanks on the outside?
