Nick Young Out 2-4 Weeks

Well, not as bad as initially feared. I think anyone who saw the injury and how he reacted thought it was a torn Achilles. So, that's good news that it's not that.

My next question:

With Russell out, who starts? I think I would go with Brandon Ingram. The way the O works with the combination of Clarkson/Williams/Ingram when the second unit comes in could be replaced more easily with World Peace sliding in Ingram's spot. Obviously, we didn't hope for World Peace to play 20 MPG off the bench, but I think he can fill that role for another week or so until Russell gets back.

Also, maybe being in the starting line-up will give Ingram more opportunities.

PG: Calderon/ Clarkson/
SG: Ingram/ Williams/
SF: Deng/ MWP/
PF: Randle/ Nance/
C: Mozgov/Black

BTW- Who ever thought 2 months ago that we would be dreading a Nick Young injury?

I bet Ingram starts... Personally, I'd like to see.
Lou
Ingram
Deng
Randle
Mozgov

I thought Lou was pretty effective on both ends compared to the others, and with Ingram helping, I think the 2 of them and Randle would be a pretty dynamic ball-movement team, that could also attack and get to the rim/line if needed.
I just can't see starting Huertas or Calderon in front of Lou, and we can't decimate the bench by starting Clarkson.. He needs to play with Nance IMO... Anyway, just a thought.

This is a perfect time for Russell to come back and be the leader/hero we all hope he will be one day.

That's really good news. Injury looked pretty bad when it happened.

I would personally just go ahead and start Lou and JC over Calderon right now... that second unit drops off significantly with Calderon and Huertas as the backups though. The safest bet is exactly what you said. Start Ingram, play MWP with that second unit.

We really need a defensive lockdown type at guard position. I don't know who but we definitely need one.
