OK, you obviously lost me here. I was responding to your statement: "Noel as an undrafted college player was never worth more than the current CJ." What am I missing because it sure sounds like you called Noel and undrafted college player?

Did he not at one point in time fit that description?

Well, I guess I was at least hoping for clarification, but no dice. Noel was the #6 pick in the 2013 draft and would probably have gone #1 overall if not for his ACL tear. Perhaps you are trying to be facetious in an incomprehensible way.

I'll put it in a way that you can comprehend, on Noel's best most healthy day in life, he never held more trade value than CJ currently has right now. Noel CERTAINLY doesn't have more value than CJ after having played in the NBA for several seasons taking much of the mystery out of his ultimate potential.

Ah, makes total sense now except for the part about Noel being undrafted. The other part was always clear in your mind. The rest of it made little sense and still doesn't. Regarding Noel having the same value as CJ, I would agree with that, but mostly due to him being an impending FA, not because Noel isn't considered valuable. Noel is a modern day big that can have the same impact defensively as CJ can offensively. It just depends on what your team needs. I'm guessing that Noel will show that to the team that obtains him in a trade. I'm further guessing that CJ would not be viewed in the same light had he spent his first few years in Philly during the tank, despite his obvious talent. In the meantime, I wonder if Okafor and Embid were undrafted too.

I forgot to put the word "not" in there so I do in fact agree with you that Noel does not have the same value as CJ, but the point was that it had more to do with his contract status than ability. That said, I think I've wasted enough time here.

LOL, if Noel signed a 12 year contract extension starting at the league minimum he STILL would be worth less than CJ.

so close to getting Noel back on the court. yet Keith says he continues pushing the trade. so much want to see him playing with our new and expanding talent. got to wonder if there isn't some fundamental chemistry issue. like the fact that Joel ain't going nowhere.

Noel doesn't get to control the process. I'll be glad when he's gone tho. I just hope we get a really good offer by some team like the Kings or Nets.

Would serve him right.

No he wouldn't. Some of you guys are acting like CJ is Lebron. I'll also just throw it out there but his defense is worse then Okafor. You know the guy you kill every year. There is a reason why POR defense is as bad as it is and CJ is a big part of that.

Thats not to say CJ still isn't really really good because he is but he's also paid really, really well. If you can get a player like Noel signed to a league min deal that is so much more valuable because it opens up those dollars 20+ mill AAV to use on free agency and you get to keep still Noel.

So they can sign another Evan Turner?
CJ > Evan Turner + Noel
CJ > Evan Turner + Crabbe + Noel
CJ > Evan Turner + Crabbe + Harkless + Noel

Who wants to play in Portland? Guys that can't get paid equal money elsewhere.

Thats because their GM is a moron. Acted like Brian Windhorst at the grand opening of a new krispy kreme. Take a look at Morey he signed two guys I liked last year but in particular Eric Gordon. He's signed to a 13 Mill AAV.

Would I like to have Noel plus Gordon then have another 7 mill to play around with? You bet I would.

Sergio Rodrigues signed a 1yr $8M deal. $7M next offseason will get you just a body... :noway:
Gordon is injury prone and benefiting from playing in that wide open offense like many other guards have in the past. Rajah Bell averaged 14.7 ppg under Dantoni, all Gordon can get is 16.4 ppg?

So Noel has already missed 20 games this season. It's becoming a bit ridiculous.

It wouldn't surprise me if Noel was basically already traded, and we are just waiting for him to get healthy.

Assuming that the Blazers and the Raptors both want him, I'm sure that there is a workable deal with both of them.

Ross and Joseph would be a done deal for me.

Agreed. I'd take Ross in a heartbeat. Nice fit at SG alongside Simmons.

I've never been the biggest Terrence Ross fan, but he's currently ripping steals at a clip north of 2%. He's always been a shooter. I think I'm finally willing to bring him on-board.
