I liked the stop-and-pop long 3.

He gets swallowed up and fouled on some drives, and I'm not convinced that NBA defenders would foul him on the same plays.

Are there any videos that indicate whether his rebounding numbers seem to stem from any special ability, or from special energy, or whether instead they're almost all rebounds that he "should" have gotten?

Wait, Bentil is playing in China now? I thought he left Boston because he believed he could catch on with another NBA program?

Wait, Bentil is playing in China now? I thought he left Boston because he believed he could catch on with another NBA program?

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ben_Bentil
On June 23, 2016, Bentil was selected by the Boston Celtics with the 51st overall pick in the 2016 NBA draft.[5] He signed with the Celtics on July 27, 2016,[6] but was waived on October 21 after appearing in three preseason games.[7] Three days later, he was signed and waived by the Indiana Pacers.[8] On October 31, he was acquired by the Fort Wayne Mad Ants of the NBA Development League as an affiliate player of the Pacers.[9] After appearing in just a single D-League game for the Mad Ants, he left the team in mid-November in order to play in China.[10]
On November 25, 2016, Bentil signed with the Xinjiang Flying Tigers of the Chinese Basketball Association as a short-term injury replacement for Andray Blatche.[11] He made his debut for Xinjiang that night, scoring 28 points off the bench against the Jilin Northeast Tigers.[12]

I guess Nader is still injured. He's not listed on the Red Claws Active Roster.
Demetrius Jackson and Jalen Jones, are still good to watch.

The Red Claws Starting line-up, were all in Celtics Training Camp. Except for the Center.

The fact that Bentil can come off the street and score 28 really puts Yabusele's numbers in perspective. The league is a joke. All Yab is doing is getting conditioning. He needs to be developing under our coaches. He might as well be playing down at the local YMCA spinning his wheels.

Another interpretation is that Bentil is a very good scorer, and that is pretty much his entire game at this point. He has scored everywhere he has played. Tremendous at PC last year.

In view of how Jordan Mickey has flatlined this season and is likely on his way off the Cs roster by next year, we may regret not keeping Bentil over him. I confess I did not see how lame Mickey would become. No blocked shots at all this year? It looks like he has lost his quickness and athletic ability. When you stand 6-7 and are a "big" that is a major problem. As least Bentil can score.

Back to GY-- OK, the China league is not the Spanish league or even the D-League or even the ACC or Big Ten. But it is the next notch down and GY is still all of 20 years old, soon to be 21. If he were a junior doing this in a mid-major college conference in the USA we'd all be doing backflips about him. Seems obvious that the dude is a player.

Yabusele's career will largely come down to accuracy from long range. He'll get those shots continually. If he hits them well, everything opens up. If he doesn't, they'll play off him and take the floor away.

The Chinese league is not a problem. Most NBAers from there are either of borderline ability or guys at the end of their careers. Young gifted prospects like Mudiay can jump to the NBA and do fine. There is no genuinely talented young player who has ever been hampered by a stint in that league.

He's looking a little more Barkelyish with those jams. His lift looks improved, which makes no sense but is a good thing.

Seems to have strength and quick feet. Could definitely help us one day! His footwork on the pick and roll was impressive.

Mickey added 4 assists, 4 steals, and 4 blocks in 34 minutes in Claws win. Jackson had 23 points, 7 rebounds, and 5 assists in 35 minutes. Both shot 50% from the field.

Jordan really has nothing left to prove in Maine. Unfortunately, just like James Young, who dominates whenever he is down there, there's no role for him up here.

I love yabs athleticism. That translates. He does have a lot of 3man skills like draymond green. Kid is a player. Zizic is big and physical. Bring him here now.

Judging by Mickey's many jams, the force of gravity seems to be lower in D-league. He's just playing looser there. It's amazing how much confidence matters.

Frustrating. There is an exactly Mickey-shaped hole in this team's skill set. You would think being a springy energy guy would translate a little.

Come on, Jordan. We need you to give us a quarter of that up here for the big club. 6/5/1blk.

I think Mickey may get another strong look post all star break. Amir Johnson is aging by the day, he may be out of the rotation altogether by the end of the year. I still think Mickey can ball given consistent NBA minutes. More performances like this one will get him another chance
