Agreed. I liked that lineup a lot. I also liked the scrappiness we showed. Even Morris and 'Chuck' Thornton hustled a little.

What I don't get is wtf were we trying to do on offense in the last 5 minutes of regulation. Just move the ball a LITTLE bit, run anything that resembles an offensive set, heck, even just start running isos earlier in the shot clock. Anything at all and we win that game.

It's frustrating when JWall becomes a ball stopper in the last few minutes of the game...effectively shutting down the Zards' hot hand, Beal, who, I believe, only got two shots in the 4th quarter. That has to stop. Move the freakin' ball, John!

It's on Brooks to drive that message home to Wall.

In my early assessment I don't think Brooks is any better Coach than Randy Wittman

I certainly don't think he's a better in-game x's and o's coach. He may be a better player development coach, though. Beal and Wall have improved their shot selection quite a bit, and Oubre is coming along nicely. It's tough to say how much of that is due to coaching, but I wouldn't rule it out.

That's certainly a reasonable hypothesis. I hope it is true. Both Beal and Wall are better... and you can't argue that Thunder players didn't develop. Hard to know how much of that was God given talent and how much was coaching. At the very least, he must have created an environment that was conducive to growth.

Brooks got guys who were physically ready to blossom.

His SYSTEM enables more efficient play from Beal. That is ALL I'm going to give him.

Contrast to Whittman he actually plays young guys. Not just here but in OKC. And the offensive system is less stupid, emphasizing better shots than Flip Saunders designed 'clogged toilet' offense, which was DESIGNED to free up players for mid-range shots.

Flip, God Rest His Soul ... When he was coach that offense was .... NOT good. Whoa boy. :noway:

Brooks still has time to be a great coach. He DOES play the young guys and they ARE playing well.
