They're 4/5 seeds with little signs of improving on that. They're not running away with anything from an MVP perspective. Sure. Throw in Klay Thompson while you're at it. Or discuss actual MVP candidates, up to you.
In case you missed my point, it's not that those two are not two of the top candidates, just that it's silly to assume they're running away with anything based on everything we know about how this award is voted. And MJ was clearly the best overall player in the NBA in 88(literally the DPOY). Definitely not a claim most would make about either of these two.
