Umm...what?

Rose came nowhere close to outplaying Westbrook.

Westbrook had a triple double with 27 points, 18 rebounds and 14 assists. But he also committed 7 offensive turnovers and only shot 9/23 from the field (.391%).

It doesn't matter what type of spectacular performance Rose put up, if he struggled from the field going 9/23 (.391%) while also having 7 turnovers? Rose critics would completely ignore his triple double and harp all over shooting percentage and turnovers committed.

And Rose had one hell of a game vs. Westbrook. An efficient game too; very efficient. Rose put up 30 points, 7 rebounds & 4 assists vs. Westbrook & OKC. He also posted those numbers off of 10/20 shooting (.500%) and only committed 1 turnover.

Rose did everything he could do, to keep us in that game. It was our big men who lost the game on the boards but Rose himself had an outstanding performance.

Ding. Ding. Ding. Another excellent point in defence of Rose here in 2016-2017.

These same Rose crtics (outside of Mark Jackson) can't name a singe N.Y PG who's on the same level of current Rose; but yet they'll "act" as if a player of Derrick's caliber falls off of trees.

He's also playing within a completely different offensive system under Hornacek, missed much of the offseason due to legal issues while being surrounded with teammates in which he's never started alongside of. But yet you'll hear crickets in regards to all of the above.

It's becoming comical.

You will all be crying for his dismissal once the knicks play a few decent teams and get smacked

He hurts the team.. should have listened to bulls fans

Stop reading box scores and actually watch a game or two.. there is no way a sane individual could watch this guy consistently and claim he is a positive .. pg head down out of control killing the offense

Wake up

like i said, check back to my post when the knicks start getting smacked by real teams (while rose continues to try to get his, all at the expense of the team)

the rose supporters are going to feel very foolish

I also understand why some of you may not like his game, but calling him selfish is a little ridiculous. The man just wants to win for the team we all root for.

It's not really about being selfish, but he misses a lot of people when he drives to the hoop. He never really plays a high screen and pop, he usually uses the high screen and attacks immediately. If he can't find an angle he'll scramble it out back to the perimeter not realizing that the screen man(usually KP) is open a good percentage of the time.

If he consistently fed KP in those situations it would help everyone involved because 1. A 40% three point shooter would be getting consistent open looks and 2. The defense would have to adjust leaving Rose to deal with one defender instead of two. It would actually benefit Rose and the team if he deferred more, but I don't think it's intentional. I think Rose just has tunnel vision.

That's why I said that I understand why some people may not like his game. There are times when he completely misses KP, that is obvious, but I think the tunnel vision is slightly overblown. I could put together a highlight reel right now of him finding teammates more so than someone can put together low lights of him missing people.

I'm saying calling him selfish is ridiculous. He just wants to help the Knicks win games.

Here we go...there are a slew of point guards hitting free agency including Derrick Rose. They're all viable but the Knicks always have a hard time attracting free agents even with Melo. Two huge free agent Summers and unless the Knicks grossly overpay by $9-10M per season, they are not coming here.

Derrick Rose actually wants to be here.

It's actually not relevant that Rose wants to be here. How we come together as a team and how well he exploits his talents to get us a top spot and hooefully home court advantage, at least in the first round, will determine whether he's in New York next year.

Melo hasn't attracted free agents cause it was only after Phil Jackson started cleaning house that we got a huge cap relief. New York taxes, more than Melo, can actually influence a move to New York.

Right now, with the young core, a highly talented coaching staff and great environment, the Knicks are attractive. Courtney could have signed for more elsewhere, btw he's rounding into form now.

So the Knicks really are in a very good place right now, with or without Rose. However, Rose is quietly creeping up on the league and to have possibly 3 - 20 point scorers is no joke.

A "super" team, perhaps not, but a dam good one.

Then let him prove it by coming back on a discount otherwise "wanting to be here" mean s nothing.

If you want a pure passing point guard then Paul is your guy, cause Westbrook is not coming. Or you can make a play Rondo in the off-season cause it seems he is really not having an impact in Chi-town.

Rose is a scoring guard and a dam good one. His defense is better that we thought and he's showing the capacity to evolve within this complicated offense. It's not a point guard pass-only offense, it's a high-post, low-post pass offense, usually initiated by bigs. Does he miss cutters, hell yeah, but it hapoens.
Btw, he's creeping up on 20ppg, not bad ay? And he's won a couple of games with clutch jumpers.

Why the negativity?

rose isn't a good scoring guard, he's way too inefficient.

his defense isn't good

20 ppg but completely empty.

and once again, derrick rose is on a contract year.

I can't believe some people want Rose. Horny had to sit him because he was so bad. He's on a contract year and trying to make himself look good.

That's a fcked up but true analogy. And if you have ever lived with that type of person the alcoholic isn't necessarily any better then the junkie.

Y'all need to wake the f up. We've had such bad point guards that anyone is better then the past few years but that doesn't mean we commit 4yrs 80plus million to Rose.
Trust but verify.

If it's not just about being super man on a teM in middle America with no chance at a title then you don't know for sure Westbrook isn't coming. He is very brand and style conscious he may consider NY for that alone. But the bigger issue is I don't see him fitting well with this team. He's just gonna get his at the expense of KP and that'd be a shame. CP3 is the right choice. And give him a five year 150 million deal.
Trust but verify.
