If you want a pure passing point guard then Paul is your guy, cause Westbrook is not coming. Or you can make a play Rondo in the off-season cause it seems he is really not having an impact in Chi-town.

Rose is a scoring guard and a dam good one. His defense is better that we thought and he's showing the capacity to evolve within this complicated offense. It's not a point guard pass-only offense, it's a high-post, low-post pass offense, usually initiated by bigs. Does he miss cutters, hell yeah, but it hapoens.
Btw, he's creeping up on 20ppg, not bad ay? And he's won a couple of games with clutch jumpers.

Why the negativity?

If it's not just about being super man on a teM in middle America with no chance at a title then you don't know for sure Westbrook isn't coming. He is very brand and style conscious he may consider NY for that alone. But the bigger issue is I don't see him fitting well with this team. He's just gonna get his at the expense of KP and that'd be a shame. CP3 is the right choice. And give him a five year 150 million deal.

westbrook isn't coming because he signed an extension through two more seasons after this one.

unless you all are talking about putting life on hold until then in hopes he would be amenable to signing. need to build our best team in the now.
RIP magnumt

thanks for everything, thibs.

That's a fcked up but true analogy. And if you have ever lived with that type of person the alcoholic isn't necessarily any better then the junkie.

Y'all need to wake the f up. We've had such bad point guards that anyone is better then the past few years but that doesn't mean we commit 4yrs 80plus million to Rose.

but it does mean that. actually it will almost definitely mean more. you want to give rose $150M & 5 years? because that is what this franchise is capable of doing based on all past evidence

I agree Westbrook would have been a realistic option for the reasons stated. He's also confident and young enough to take on that type of challenge. But once he signed that extension rose became the guy. I actually believe that was the knicks thinking all along. Westbrook plan A, rose plan B.

I can't believe some of you want to give cp3 a max contract. It's seems like you guys don't want to have a future. Great pg but how many good healthy years does he actually left in him.

Lowry would be a great fit with KP and is younger than CP but I don't think we can afford him. Rose isn't even a real pg.

You read me wrong I said Cp3 should get that deal. I wouldn't resign Rose for 4 years 80 mil, that's the type of deal someone will offer him.

Rose is more like a SG that can't shoot. His court vision is lacking...it's like we have Monta Ellis running point out there

Rose is NOT a PG which renders many of these speculations toothless.

If the goal is to surrender the reins to Rose for 4-5 years then that amounts to accepting you want a SG to run your club from now on.

But it will mean the club still has no starting PG.

Rose is an anomaly and requires you to build the club around his flaws which is a mistake.

The only way Rose makes sense is if they do have a legit PG to start with Rose at SG and Rose learns how to get his without being the one entrusted with setting up the offense.

and the problem arises from us not having the cap space to add anything of note after we bring back Rose...we'd be committing to him as our PG moving forward and committing to this core as well

He has his positives no doubt, but there are negatives. We have 60 something more games to assess so I won't rule him out as a re-signing, but for now I'd say no to any deal over 18M a year and I know he's looking for much more than that

there was a rose interview and it has some good stuff
Q: What have you learned about Carmelo Anthony as a teammate maybe you didn’t know?
A: He’s very vocal. Like he wants to win. Like his will to win. Coming in the locker room, getting on guys, always being that voice on the huddles just letting guys know, “This is what we have to do, and this is how we’re gonna do it.” That’s something that I’m learning, like I’m a quiet guy. I always led by example. And for me, being vocal, that’s the next step for me, so it’s good to have him around.

Q: Could you see yourself, if all goes well, to play here in New York for a long time?
A: I would want it to be that way, but it’s not up to me.

Q: Message to Knicks fans still dreaming that championship dream?
A: It takes time. We’re giving it everything we got. I know I’m giving everything I have. And as long as I’m a part of this organization, the goal is a championship.

Q: How realistic is that goal?
A: Very realistic. Like right now they thought we would be like 2-16 right now, something like that. For them to even think that, that drives us. Everybody on this team is chasing something right now from the starting five to the guys on the bench to the coaches to the GM to the owner. We all want that championship. But it takes time, it takes dedication, and it takes sacrifice.

theres a lot more stuff and i encourage u all to read it

Yeah, there's still a lot of season left so we'll have to see what happens. My gut tells me that if we have a good year and Rose does ok statistically then if we bring him back, it will be on a 3 year deal starting at 21-22 mil/yr.

Also one has to question how consistantly the Clippers have underachieved by most accounts, given the level of talent he's had surrounding him, since being acquired from New Orleans.

Quoted for truth and for all the negative posters on knicks realgm who only watch box scores... "Welo is trash, Rose is trash, feed KP". These are the same people who said KP was trash before the draft... there are just some people in life who are going to take the negative side no matter what.

Let's see how the season plays out. Rose, Melo, and all our guys want to win so let's support them.

I've always wondered why Carmelo is seen as a career loser but cp3 is a must have. I been wondering for a long time.

I was also happy that Amare was not charles smith but it was still a stupid signing.

He is here now but he should not stay here at anywhere near max money.
