I was also happy that Amare was not charles smith but it was still a stupid signing.
He is here now but he should not stay here at anywhere near max money.

your comment is laughable, not even the same thing lmao not even gonna explain to you why, if thats your arguement than its not worth continuing the conversation.
It may have coasted right past you. It was as silly as bringing up felton and calderon.

Felton & Calderon? My dude Rose just put up 14 points, 4 assists, 3 rebounds off of 7/8 from the field (.875%). Rose led N.Y and Knicks up 14 at the half.
(In before the Rose critics state he put up "empty stats during garbage time").
This dude is a straight up baller just getting his feet wet; a feel for N.Y.

Loved watching Rose out there tonight. I've noticed throughout the young season that he's regained his explosion which is pretty exciting to see. Not only was he looking to pass tonight but also looked to get Porzingis involved early and often off of pick and rolls and screens. Played hard on defense as well.
20 points, 6 assists and 6 rebounds off of 9/14 from the field (.643%). 34 minutes of hard work out of Rose.

Rose has been good so far, but I would wait much deeper into the season before dumping a whole bunch of money on him. He is extremely injury prone, and it would be terrible to sign him to a big extension only to have miss the remainder of the season. If he stays healthy for the rest of the year and helps the Knicks win a series in the playoffs, then definitely pay him a ton of money. Don't jump the gun though. Every time I watch him play I keep thinking this is the game he goes down.

Look - if you're gonna make a statistical argument, don't come in with that "you don't watch" crap. "You don't watch" should be accompanied with game discussion.
Rose was finding guys early. They just weren't hitting. KP, in particular, got a few good looks early but started out colder than a moose's tuckus on an Artic prairie. Rose took it upon himself and hit a bunch of shots that kept the game from getting out of hand. He had a good feel for what he needed to do. Then Melo returned and the Knicks began to build their lead.
Rose was fine tonight.

Looks to me that the Knicks could go over the cap with an extension up to June 30th and still be granted a mid-level extension.
What you said may be the best tack.

Rose is playing really well right now. He made a couple mistakes LIKE EVERY PLAYER IN THE NBA DOES, but other than that he's really just giving us a whole new dynamic that we're just not use to seeing. Hope he keeps it up.
Anyone hating is nitpicking at this point. This is the best ball Rose has played since 2012.

Every post I read of this guy is him here to tell us Rose is no good and, will be a negative and, we will regret him. It is agenda driven. Trollosh behavior IMO.

It’s like when lil bitches make subliminal records, if it ain’t directed directly at me, I don’t respect it

I'm not sure I would use that word in this poster's case. What you get is a lot of posters - people really - that are set in their opinion for or against players and they get to a point where can't see evidence to the contrary. I'm a skeptic of Rose's but am willing to acknowledge data and performances that go against my concerns. He's shown some signs of being a positive impact player lately along with some clunker games. Tonight was a very good game from him. Good decisions on whose number to call, including his own.

Re: Knicks not ruling out DRose extension later in the season
I love how Derrick Rose came out & stated how he's no longer trying to play with the same type of style in which he's always played with while in Chicago; due to N.Y now having all of this talent.
He's completely remodeled his overall game. He'll always be an attacking/scoring PG (it's in his DNA) but in Chicago we would've never seen Rose ranked 3rd in team shot attempts per game (here in N.Y he's ranked 3rd behind both of Anthony & Porzingis).
He gets it. And as a 3rd offensive option behind Anthony & K.P he's now proving to be a nightmare for opposing team defenses.
Throughout the past 10 games (7-3) Derrick Rose has averaged 19.3 points, 4.9 assists and 4.3 rebounds (2.0 turnovers) per game. During this 10 game span he's shooting .467% from the field. Outstanding.
Correct me if I'm wrong but these are borderline Linsanity numbers (during a time in which Lin captured the hearts of N.Y faithful).

Re: Knicks not ruling out DRose extension later in the season
I mean, if we can get "this" Rose for the reasonable price, its not a horrible deal, but..
Rose has been saying his main priority is "be healthy after he stops playing".
Said he wished he wasn't so reckless when he was young, that he dunked so much.
Is now playing in his contract year.
So, what are the chances Rose shuts himself down after he gets his last significant deal and plays it save?
I mean, even now his main threat is getting to the basket, imagine if decides to go a little bit easier on that part, how much worse of a player he becomes..

Really? You didn't read the part in the article where he said he was a dumb player back in his MVP season? That's why he was talking about him being to reckless. He spoke about his IQ improving and learning how to change speeds and what not.
He's playing better now and I bet many of you Rose detractors can't stand it
Happy to see he's doing well and improving as he gels more with the team.

Excellent response bronxknick1.
Being only 20 games into the season Derrick Rose (as a starting PG) hasn't even had the proper time needed in order to become accustomed to Hornacek's system nor the continuity needed in order to become familiar with his surrounding teammates; but yet...
▪His FG% of .455% is the highest it's been dating back to his 2nd year in the league (2009-2010).
▪His 2PT% of .477% is the highest it's been dating back to his All-Star season of 2010-2011.
▪His eFG% of .468% is the highest it's been dating back to his All-Star year of 2011-2012.
▪His FT% of .838% is the 3rd highest of his NBA career.
▪His TS% of .516% is the highest it's been since 2011-2012 (and increasing).
▪He's only attempting 1.6 3's per game (the fewest amount of 3's attempted per game in over 5 years).
▪His shot attempts per game are the lowest it's ever been dating back to his rookie season (2008-2009). As a 3rd option both Melo & K.P are averaging more shot attempts than Rose himself.
▪His usages rate is the lowest it's been since his rookie season (but yet he's averaging 17.0 points per game).
▪His 4.3 rebounds per game are a career high.
▪He's averaging 2.7 turnovers per game (the lowest it's been dating back to his rookie season).
▪His 4.9 assists per game are the highest it's been since dating back to 2011-2012.
▪His Player Efficiency Rating of 16.6 is the highest it's been since 2011-2012 (and rapidly increasing as well).
▪His 'Value Added' & 'Estimated Wins Added' are ranked 15th amongst all NBA PG's (and rapidly increasing/climbing).
Not only that but he's also been clutch during 4th quarters while his quickness/athleticism and explosion have all returned to his game.
N.Y hasn't featured a PG who could drive, penetrate the lane, attack defenses and get to the rim (at ease) as current Rose has displayed in quite some time.
Also (as already mentioned) throughout his past 10 games (7-3) Derrick Rose has averaged 19.3 points, 4.9 assists and 4.3 rebounds (2.0 turnovers) per game. During this 10 game span he's shooting .467% from the field. These are borderline Linsanity numbers, no?
Rose is taking more pressure off of the likes of Anthony & Porzingis more than some folks tend to realize (I'm just glad i do).
