No idea but this is his pinned tweet, so it seems believable he's got some connection to Nerlens' camp.

In fact, Noel is basically the only NBA player he tweets about.

I don't know, seems likely he is friends with one of Nerlens' boys. He also reported on talks with Toronto and Portland for what it's worth. I feel like guys who are just throwing stuff out don't focus on one particular player. I'm feeling pretty pessimistic that this what we're ending up with.

Until a deal goes down I'm not taking any tweet from a nobody seriously. Let's see what he does. Don't jump to conclusions before it happens.

Knight is garbage but I'd do a deal for Bledsoe in a second.

While I'm with you on Bledsoe, I think Noel's whole situation right now (Pending FA/Injury/Log Jam/Publicly unhappy) really puts a dent in his value. Knight is on a pretty reasonable deal and fills a need as a shooter/scorer even if eventually its in a reserve role.

Sadly, this is the type of return we can probably expect for Noel at this stage.

I'd take Knight for Noel for sure. Noel has us over a barrel right now because of his contract. If he was under control for another year he would have more value, but he doesn't.

Knight can play. He isn't a point guard, but he would be our best guard by a mile, and he would be great with Simmons.

I have some drawbacks on Knight. Don't get me wrong, his role in PHX this year has been pretty up and down, but he has really not played well at all. Pretty sure he ranks dead last in 85 point guards in both DRPM and RPM. Thats simply not good. He's about 50/85 in ORPM.

Not saying stats tell every story, I think Knight would produce here offensively and he certainly fits the mold of "combo guard" to play in a Simmons lineup....but I'm not so sure he's really a piece to count on and build with.

Id prefer Knight over some of the other moves floating around out there, like Crabbe from Portland.

Knight was much better starting.

But two things about Knight. If you can take the ball out of his hands during crunch time and not allow him to overdribble and become more of a spot up shooter for Simmons and work within flow he could be a good player.

He hasn't wanted to do this, but I think part of it is he wants to prove he can get his own and play pg. Give him the right role IF he can buy in and let him start, he could have some value, especially if you can absorb his cap space and it not be an issue.

Why go for a point guard when you have a point god in Simmons?

Knight is trash and a poor fit next to Simmons. Has always been a net negative on the court, and is now dead last in RPM among PG's. Trading Noel for him would be a colossal waste.

I'd much rather facilitate a 3 way with ORL. They are also looking for scoring.

Knight to ORL
Noel to PHX
Mario & X to PHI

I think Mario is the lowest valued asset in the group, so Philly would need to receive something, from someone. Maybe we get Len (all our bigs are hurt/sick lol) and Magic add something to Phx?

If he wasn't willing to buy in before, I don't see how he's going to be willing to after joining one of the losingest teams in NBA history. Even if he somehow does, his defense is garbage. I want no part of Knight.

Knight is exactly the kind of player that will bump our win record and hurt us in the long run. I like the deal Foshan mentioned, something centered around Mario Hezonja/Nerlens Noel/Brandon Knight. Not interested in Len though, perhaps add a future protected 1st and I might take it.

Still prefer to trade Okafor though, I want to see the Noel and Embiid duo terrorizing the opponent's offense at least once.

That's the point. He isn't a point guard. He just defends point guards. He is a scoring guard.

There is a lot of talk about his willingness to do things, and that speaks to his attitude. I'm largely unfamiliar with his personality, and attitude.

If he is really difficult personality wise then his value to us goes down, but if he is willing to do what Brown asks then I'd be happy to have him.

He's written 1 story since last July on the NBA at his writing gig for hoopsinquirer. He has 1000 twitter followers total. He last broke the Noel for Coey Joseph and a 1st talks that no one else has had still.

I'm not saying everyone should ignore him. But I would buy what would appear to be an iceberg sized grain of salt to take him with.

37.5 FG%
31.9 3PT%

I'd rather have a late 1st.

So what do we do?

Do we hold tight and see if anything offers change?
Do we hold onto Noel, see if things can somehow work and match any offer north of 20 million a year and bring him back, despite his public statements about being unhappy here due to the situation?
Do we try to move Okafor instead and hope it makes Noel happy? The market seems like its pretty damn similar in terms of teams/players looking for a 5.

Seems like a harsh reality that we aren't likely to receive what we all perceive as "value" for either of the bigs. Were kind of over barrel.
