i don't want him near the team

I don't understand why Rockets keeps this drama, they just could let him go and that's it. If they really wanted DMO then they shouldn't have tried to trade him or offering him more-less rooky contract.

between 2016 first round pick and DMo, of course Morey want the pick
since Detroit back out the trade
only option left is to keep DMo
DMo has one good season and two injured season
what do you expect Morey to do?
overpaying him 10M a season?
from what i read Morey only offer one year guaranteed contract (amount is unknown)

      hold on to him and don't let him go anywhere! Destroy his market value so long as this does not hurt the Rockets

They pretty much been doing it for the last half in year.

How so? We waited for him to get an offer? That doesn't kill his value...if people weren't worried about his back someone would have made an offer that scared us off

I love motie and want him back, but this situation can't be blamed on the rockets

Yeah, everything I'm reading puts the blame for this situation on Motiejunas, or specifically his agent.

I'm still shocked that he negotiated such a team-friendly contract, and didn't make the incentives part of the deal that the Rockets would have to match.

I really want him back in a Rockets uniform. I'm hoping that this does not go on for too long.

Hey RealGM has just posted an article on DMo's situation too and I am in full agreement with it.

Don't you hire an agent so **** like that doesn't happen to you as a player? Complete incompetence from Armstrong.

The only thing I like in this whole mess is that it really sounds like D-Mo is healthy.

I would imagine that Armstrong's other clients are paying very close attention to what is going on.

Does anyone know who else he represents?

oof...aren't they both coming up for new deals this offseason? If I'm them I'm watching what's going on with Motie like a hawk.

Well he already managed to get Draymond a below max contract, somehow. Also if you haven't seen BJ's comments on the league punishing Draymond for his kicks, you should look it up. I believe at one point he says that the league has never made rule that helped the game of basketball lol

The owner of Cle in Houston (a nightclub) took a picture with Dmo tonight and claims he's reporting to the Rockets tomorrow here

No idea how true that is but hey, it's something and shows Dmo is in Houston.

Little Donatas is peeking out in that picture.
Harden is still a work-in-progress. He can score, but he can't help his teammate that much - Yao Ming

Dmo is back for real this time! Money moved up to 4 years 35 million with unlikely bonuses that could go up to 37 (basically same money as Nets deal) but now every year is unguaranteed up until July which is huge

can be traded without his consent and in the next 3 months is huge
i think he will be traded before the trade deadline

edit: read it wrong, he can't be traded this season, he can in the off-season

When is trade deadline? 1 Mar 2017? If that is the case, 3 month from now mean will pass the trade deadline.
DMo is with Rockets for this full season.
He will be traded before 15 July which is when Rockets need to exercise the team option.
This is still a great contract for rockets and Rockstes have a lot of control moving forward.
if DMo does not perform, he will be back to be a FA but 15 days after every other FA - again left on last patch to be signed.
If DMo perform, his team option will be exercise. Hope he is happy with $8+ million a year while performing.

Werent the rockets only willing to give 7 million per year before? Looks like a win for D-mo and his agent. I'd take 2 million less over 4 years and play in houston and stay home where i am comfortable than that horrible nets lottery team.

He is not getting offer mainly due to the fact that he is a RFA and with a recent medical history. If he perform well in next two years, he will surely get a lot more on the 3 rd year onwards. DMo may get 1-2 million more than the initial offer from Rocket but he will lose his future opportunity to get a bigger pay day until he is over 30 which will pass his likely " peak". Unless he has no confidence about his back to last 4 years, this is not a good trade off.

Looking at Rockets' perspective, Rockets pay $1.5 million more on each year to get 2 extra year of team option but unable trade this season.

Well that deal also allowed him to get back on the market in 2 years rather than 4. If he plays well he could be underpaid for 3 straight years

that was the qualifying offer (i think)
the contract i read Morey offer before 11/22 was 2 years with 8-9M starting salary but only first year is guaranteed
Morey pull this contract after 11/22 because he can't be traded this season if sign on 11/23

Return to Houston Rockets
