All this stink for him to end up with only 1 guaranteed year and no trade restrictions? The Rockets make out like bandits. 0 commitment

1st year guaranteed, 3 team option years. THREE. YEARS. OF. TEAM. OPTIONS.

Also DMo is now tradeable in 3 months, without him having to consent.

Is it even allowed to have three years of team options? Not even a rookie deal has that many team options.

And a later waive date. Dmo just signed the worst deal I've seen in the league.

What kind of 26 year old signs a 1 + 1 + 2 deal.

and I just hope all future FAs understand that it's not Morey has a habit of stepping on player's throat, it's what a world of cut throat business + having BJA as your agent do to you.

We love DMo here, super nice and real funny guy. It sucks to see his contract negotiation go down like that.

No need to commit to 4 years at bargain prices. Should have signed that $16/2 year deal during the summer or found a short term 2 year deal from another team.

But that's a hindsight right? There is no 'shouda' for them. At the summer they had their eyes on bigger things.

DMO wound up on a Hinkie Special, albeit on a bigger scale (due to his years in L).

Good job BJ?

HOU has total control beginning this summer to trade/cut him, he's making about half of what other bigs got in UFA.

Tell me how this is better than the qualifying offer? It's slightly more money, but basically zero control

It's actually non guaranteed up to sometime in July every year. No idea why it's being reported as team options. Can only have one option year

i read Morey original offer was 8-9M starting salary for 2 years but only first year is guaranteed
but pull the offer on 11/22 because he won't be tradeable this season after that date
this deal is actually worse than the original one
since it gives Rockets a later deadline for exercise his 2nd year team option

Well...well...well. Isn't this interesting.
All that commotion for naught. A more player-friendly version of the same deal was on the table months ago.

At this point, unless D-Mo's back has the structural integrity of wet tissue paper, I don't see how BJ Armstrong can convince him or anyone else that he served D-Mo well here.

If his back is awful that makes getting only 1 year guaranteed even worse

Not when the richest free agent market in NBA history wasn't even offering you that.
Remember the dude got zero interest during this past summer's spending spree.
