Fall moves pretty decent for a 7'6" guy. If you are using a later pick on him, that is a very safe gamble.

So when do we start fantasizing about how great it would be to get Markelle Fultz?

So we shouldn't draft a player because another player is playing less in his rookie year?

Re: 2017 Draft Thread
If we end up deciding to trade Wiggins for depth so we can build around Town/Lavine I would like to take Josh Jackson to fill that 3 spot. His aggressive attitude and "need" to win is something this unit lacks at the moment.
If we decide to keep the big three and build around them I would prefer to trade Rubio for some depth and run with Dunn as the point guard and look to take someone like Malik Monk to give us some explosive scoring off the bench.

"That's why the last two years weren't guaranteed," Walsh said. "Either way, he knew it could have happened either way."

Re: 2017 Draft Thread
The 2017 NBA Draft is expected to be one of the deepest in recent memory, particularly at the point guard position.
If this is true, I'd trade Rubio. SAC have crowded frontcourt, they need PG and they will lose Gay anyway so I'd offer:
Rubio, Payne, Shabazz + 2nd round pick for WCS, Gay and Casspi.
We get decent bench production, make Dieng 1st backup
WCS/Aldrich/Dieng
KAT/Dieng/Bjelica
Gay/Bjelica/Wiggins
Wiggins/LaVine/Rush
Dunn/Jones

Re: 2017 Draft Thread
Lonzo Ball and Dennis Smith are players to keep an eye out on
However with Dunn in the fold, it would be very hard to see the wolves wanting to draft either.
Josh Jackson looks like a player to me. Great feel for the game and a true competitor.
I just don't see the wolves team wanting to add a piece through the draft. I think the wolves are in a situation of needing to win now

Re: 2017 Draft Thread
I haven't seen Smith but his low 3 point percentage is something that would push me away. At least my thought would be if we're going to move away from Rubio/Dunn it should be for a shooter.

This seems like a PG heavy draft, 5 of draft express's top 10 are listed as PG's. Sacramento could end up drafting a PG and losing interest in Rubio.

Re: 2017 Draft Thread
If we are in top five range come draft time which looks likely, trade whoever gets more value out of Dunn and Rubio for a shooter and draft a PG.

If things continue how they look now, this team better look different come trade deadline. Something has to be changed prior to TD and maybe even yet again come draft day.
Way too early to speculate, but if prospects look like they do now, draft BPA when their top 5 picks come due. And with whatever assets Wolves have from trading someone(s) prior to TD, trade where they are too deep (looking like guard), plus those assets received, and get best player that completes a well rounded roster.

Well, that is understandable. However they need both starting and backup PG. Nowdays I think Rubio contract is okay even for backup PG.

Re: 2017 Draft Thread
If no trades are made this season, we need to come out of this draft with a power forward or center. While most of the elite prospects are point guards, this draft does have very good big man depth. As of now, here is my wish list:
1. Bam Adebayo, C - Would fit this team very well as a garbage man/finisher. Elite athleticism (comparisons to Dwight Howard).
2. TJ Leaf, PF - Putting up insane shooting efficiency #s so far this season (67.5 fg% and 54.2% 3p%). Underrated athleticism and playmaking ability. Could get overpowered in the NBA.
3. OG Anunoby, PF - Draymond Green clone.
4. Robert Williams, PF/C - Rim defender, strong finisher.
5. Lauri Markannen, PF - Elite floor spacer, high BBIQ.
6. Tacko Fall, C - Reportedly has an 8 foot wingspan and can touch the rim with his toes on the ground. Moves well for a 7'6 guy. Shaq level free throw shooter.
7. Ivan Rabb, PF - Jack of all trades type, not elite at anything.
Jury is Still Out:
1. Harry Giles, PF
2. Marques Bolden, C
3. Isaiah Hartenstein, PF
4. Jonathan Jeanne, C

Re: 2017 Draft Thread
I'm intrigued with Giles because he was expected to be the top pick but after his knee injury he's dropped to the late lottery. That might be way to steal a star.
Otherwise I still think there's a lot of ways we could go. I'm not willing to reach much but I'd be willing to trade up down or out of this draft. I'd also probably be willing to draft any position, although probably only PG if he was a star or a wing if he can play multiple positions.

I think he is supposed to play on Monday. If he could be healthy is a near perfect fit for this team.

Honestly, before we get a center/pf from the draft I would try to talk the Sixers into a deal for Okafor. KAT and Okafor would be a pretty nasty duo offensively.
