I really don't think hibbert should be playing on a playoff team. his pnr play on BOTH SIDES is reprehensible, only thing he offers is occasional tear on the offensive glass. if you put hibbert into pnr you will score its very easy. if you try to run pnr with hibbert he cant catch when he dives or finish. he simply is not an nba player imo. cant shoot either, thats the thing with hawes he atleast can shoot/pass. looking at their per 100 numbers its obvious.

Hawes, Harrison, Marco and Roberts are +40 together and literally +infinity without MKG. I'd roll 4 on 5 if the scoreboard and egos could handle it.

How's that for in-depth analysis?

I will never be annoyed with Hawes getting minutes, because it'll always at least be good entertainment value.

But if you ran that analysis after Hawes only had 30 minutes with that group like you are with Hibbert, they'd have practically the same net rating. Like MA alluded to, we need to take more into consideration when building rotations than 20 minute net rating outliers, especially since we (or at least I) don't have the time to look into those and investigate the context for those minutes in terms of opponent and game context.

I agree that Hibbert is a poor PNR player but my eye test says Hawes isn't much better. Would be interested to see the stats on that.

As to shooting generally, Hibbert actually has a higher TS% this season.

It seems like the trade off on the offensive end is really Hibbert's offensive rebounding vs. Hawes's playmaking and occasional perimeter shooting. I like Hibbert's passing too, it's much better than I expected, but he's not close to a playmaker or set up passer like Hawes.

Hawes should be our 3rd string C. Hibbert shouldn't be on the roster b/c he doesn't do anything uniquely enough to justify it. Hawes is all the glacial speed bigs we need (Frank ain't too fleet of foot either). Backup C needs to be somebody with a skill set that adds something, especially complementary to the other 2nd unit players.

Trade for Noel and maybe/hopefully he trumps Cody in the starting lineup by the playoffs.
