There are some players that are emerging for the warriors pick that I really like.

Josh Hart- He was one of the leaders of Villanova's championship team last year and he has picked up his game even more this year. For the sg position he has good size and athleticism and can really shoot the ball. My favorite part about him is that he always seems to be under control and is smart with the basketball. Very similar to what we have seen from George Hill in that manner. Defensively he is solid and I think with his size and athleticism it will translate to being a solid defender in the pros.

Luke Kennard- Probably won't be in this draft but I really like his game. He is a really good shooter and passer that can also break down the defense off the dribble. He is also an underrated athlete. I mentioned earlier that he reminds me of Hornacek. He is only a sophomore though and he may not enter the draft.

Dillon Brooks- I just don't get why mock drafts are so down on this kid other than his wingspan which was supposedly measured at 6'4.5" at the 2014 nike skills academy. That is definitely a super short wing span if true but it still wouldn't stop me from drafting such a skilled wing. He is a great athlete than can do everything. When I watch him play he reminds me of Jimmy Butler when he was in college. Don't take that to mean that he will become the Jimmy Butler but I do think he will be a solid backup wing that can play the 2 and 3 spots.

Thomas Bryant- Solid big with a great frame. He has a pretty diverse offensive game and has the makings of a decent stretch big. With all of the wings that they have it is difficult for him to get consistent touches but he is doing a good job of impacting the game in other areas. In the end I think he probably goes higher than 30 but if not I would have no problem taking him at 30.

If Kennard keeps playing like this I think he might jump even higher. I'm starting to see what people were talking about him when saying he can actually create a bit of offense and as weird as it sounds... the more I watch him, the more Hayward I see in him(I don't think he's going to be this good and he's not as tall and long, but he makes the exact same moves with the exact same mannerisms while doing them, it's uncanny).

Fultz seems in similar situation to Simmons last year - his team is really bad and he seems to be wasting his year in Washington. I really love his physical attributes and his skills... he splits a double team with a behind the back dribble... who the **** does that? He's so calm and deliberate, in control. He seems like he's in no hurry and yet is first to get to wherever he wants to get with the ball in his hands. I haven't really seen any prospect play like that recently. He looks like he's playing beyond his years.

Watching Kennard in highlights...looks like a completely different player than when I last saw him. So much craft...

The fact that he isn't a great athlete seems to be holding him back from getting a lot of hype but I think he is going to be a really good nba player. He is a player that I wouldn't mind snagging with the warriors pick.

He's the guy I've changed my mind on the most this season and the more I watch of him. Somebody pointed Hayward as comparison and I initially dismissed it, but if you watch him... there are uncanny similarities about the way he creates his shot off the dribble.

Watch this one:

0:20 exact same way Hayward stops on his drives and headfakes in the lane.

1:00 Hayward uses the exact same fake, usually drives after the defender flies by.

1:40 That's the Hayward special, the step back from the right side. That's the shot that beat the Cavs, the shot that beat the Mavs(from left side) the shot that was going to beat the Celtics if it wasn't for Zeller's buzzerbeater.

Exactly, I was just editing my post to show what I mean... lol... I used the same video with more examples of similarities.

Kennard's game is pretty slippery, you need that to survive in the NBA. He might be a defensive sieve though.

Those Kennard videos did remind me of Hayward at times. I think he looks like a better passer. But his shot looks like he brings it down pretty low and sorta slow. And he isn't explosive so I wonder if he will stay efficient when he gets near the rim. Very sneaky with screens and cuts. Looked like he communicated where he was going with the PG on few plays so he probably has good BBIQ.

Anyone seen film on Robert Williams? There's been a little bit of chatter on him, but no film except for high school. He's a 6'9 shot blocker with range (very slow release from what I can gather).

20.7/10.7/2.9/1.3/5.1 per40. 68.5% FG, 82.6% FT, and only 2.4 fouls. One to watch...

EDIT: Clips here.

You need to watch this kid play guys. It's a treat. Watch UCLA run their offense through Leaf in the high post:

I have never been this conflicted about a prospect. He looks SO DAMN GOOD. Absolute beast and he does it without physically dominant frame or athleticism. And herein lies the problem - I have no idea what to make of him as an NBA prospect. They list him as a SF and project him to be a SF. For the life of me I can't imagine how he's going to guard quick SFs in the league. I think he will get annihilated and at the same time his frame seems so ... frail, that I'm not sure he can be PF.

Have you watched him play? What are your thoughts on him?

When I look at him I see a player like Vladamir Radmanovic. When he was with the sonics and clippers I thought he was a great player to have off the bench and I would gladly take a player like that on the jazz.

It's been a busy fall. But I'd say the jazz are probably making several trips to Italy. A good future backcourt fit with exum. And knowing the Jazz some trips to UCLA are probably in order

Hey pickIBL, nice to see you around. What prospect are we watching in Italy? Nice to see you haven't given up on Exum. A lot of people around seem to have moved from him.

Just a reminder - he's 17, guys! 17! He's still in highschool, guys! Those are grown ass men he's playing against in the second best league in the world for the best team outside of the NBA in the world.

Also Omer Yurtseven made his NCAA debut:

Has real nice touch. Seems a bit slow to me and seem to not be too physical(avoids contact), but he's worth watching.

edit: this draft is getting better and better by the minute. Check out this freshman(4-star recruit) Danjel Purifoy:

He's a 6'7" wing, with good length and athleticism. That's just the surface! He actually has skill and nice shooting touch- he's averaging 18/5/3 with 1.7 steals to add to it. Shooting splits - 48/42/87!!!!! I need to find an Auburn game and watch a full game. He should be a first round pick(maybe even lottery) if what I'm seeing here is anywhere close to his usual level of play.

Return to Utah Jazz
