Plus SJ has the same intensity as KCP.
So in a game where KCP is gone, and your guys are playing too cool for school, relaxed and lackadaisical... SVG should have known to give Stanley a bigger chance before the 4th quarter.
Gotta know your team better than that.
You need 2-way wings, 2-way shooting bigs, and you can't allow low iq players on the court. Assist/turnover ratio is crucial. Shooting point guards are icing on the cake IF they are plus defenders.
Weaver & Casey, govern yourselves accordingly!

I really hope SVG knows something we don't and is playing the long game with Stanley.

I was very close to getting a ticket for this game, and I hate to say this but I'm glad I didn't.

I don't think in the long term that is a good trade for the Pistons. But A John Wall for Rj + sweeteners would be a very interesting idea imo

I'm not sold about Wall as first option, but we would be scary as f**k on the defensive end.

I'm pretty sure Wizards wouldn't do that trade. But get Cousins is a real possibility and I'm all about that shot.

I don't think there is a better deal out there for the wizards unless they want to go full rebuild mode. RJ would allow them to remain in the playoff hopefuls with their current roster

We should be running some plays through SJ. He's never been an off ball type player. He's more of a Pick and Roll focal point of your offense. Who cares if there's growing pains, hell be doing it on the bench.

You know that I agree with you 99% of the time, but it's sometimes our bench players that carries us whenever one (or few) starters get in a funk or slump. I don't think SVG wants to mess with that bench chemistry right now with putting SJ the ball in his hands and giving him the greenlight.

We run a ton of plays through SJ, he just freezes in the PnR. For whatever reason:
he can't go left , despite all the talk about his off season work
he ignores the roll man almost every time or fails to create or see the passing lanes. He's also been gun shy
he fails to finish at the rim or after separation

I am hoping its a "rhythm" type thing and he simply needs to find his groove. Its concerning though that so far his play has been mostly talking

This game by itself really took some interest away from me towards this team.. The excitement over this bunch is starting to fade. Something needs to change.

RJ improving and flashing on film would flip alot of smiles upside down. Don't worry if we continue to suck that just means the Trade deadline is that much more fun

so i finally got to watch back the game a bit, i can clearly see what SVG says when he didn't have the team prepared enough. we often have KCP creating played off of screens to get the offense going but we didn't run that at all, presumably because SVG didn't feel comfortable putting hilliard in that position. the result was an ugly offense, it was pretty much all reggie pick and roll and not a lot of rhythm all around.

Yeah, scouts have already done their homework on RJ's tendencies, they will lock him up and make him score instead of passing which hinders our offense a lot. They know he's not going to make those skip passes in rhythm.

This game really highlighted how important piece KCP is in the offense now that he's found a new passing ability.

what were doing to sj is complete bs. Since weve had sj, svg has done absolutely nothing to put sj in better scoring positions. Id rather watch sj play 30+ min in the d league without having to worry about getting yanked for missing 1 shot and criticized by yall ns. Let hilliard play all the minutes he wants. Yall just want shooters anyway. Hilliard does just that. Let sj play his true game in the d league. Ill watch his games at least

went back and rewatched the game and apparently anytime i wasn't looking SJ was kicking a* as i didn't realize how well he played, especially defensively. He was everything we needed him to be and was , for the most part, making good decisions.

That cross court pass to a open Mook was actually a risky decision but showed his vision and feel for the game. We needed the ball to move and SJ recognized and reacted. If that is the SJ that comes to play every game then Hilliard sit his a* down.

1.) RJ's decision making in the PnR was absolutely atrocious and made little effort to get in the lane and get the defense to commit. His best weapon is the Floater which he rarely uses.

2.) TH essentially becomes a spot up shooter with RJ's dominance, when he represents essentially the biggest mismatch consistently.

3.) Mook looked like he was going to drop 40 yet we still went to RJ in the PnR and ignored mook.

4.) For whatever reason, SVG had Ish playing the 2 spot and RJ continuing the PG responsibility. I mean one of the first possessions of that lineup RJ draws the defense and kicks it out to a open Ish who predictably bricks the shot. Much rather have had RJ, who's shooting 38% from 3 ,shooting that shot.

I think overall we just didnt' come out with energy and when that happens your looking at the players with the most usage.
