Re: The Official Kristaps Porzingis Thread pt2
I can respect the opinions of the tank/full rebuild crowd but goddamn I really want to see KP in the playoffs.
I'll trust Gaines to make the most of our mid-first rounders lol.

He's back to shooting with less arc. He's 7'3 doesnt need much arc in the 1st place.

What happens when teams start doubling him consistently? Hope they have him working on that already, with his height he could absolutely murder teams passing out of the double.

I was listening to the PHX feed, and eddie johnson, who is hard to impress he usually solidly homering, was wetting his pants when KP starting going nuts. He brought up mark eaton, then quickly retracted it saying he never saw eaton do what KP was doing, then apologized lol.

He's already a very good player at age 21. He's STILL learning as a player. Imagine his talent level after 4 years in the league?

Speaking of 4 yrs, when Melo opts out and Noah is in his last year...I wonder how the Knicks are going to finally build around him?

With the exception of davis, most of those guys were at least 23 already weren't they?

Trade for John Wall, draft a stud wing player, get KAT out of Minny, there you go.

Gasol webber and shaq were under 23 as well, but when you add all that plus davis... those are HOFers, and we aren't even bringing up the 136 treys hes made- transcendent talent stuff- next highest is ELEVEN by webber. The thing with KP on that list, he falls short on the glass and defensively, two clear areas he needs to improve on. we saw it last night when chandler was going crazy late on the glass. He has to be better on the boards and defensively vs 5s/ anchoring in general without fouling.

Re: The Official Kristaps Porzingis Thread pt2
If you think about 2015 draft and the teams that had an opportunity to draft at top 5, KP landed at the perfect place. First of all, there is Phil Jackson, one of the greatest minds in basketball, that knows how to treat this kind of a talent. Then there is Melo, who is the star of the team and lets Porzingis develop at his own pace to later over take him. I think Hornacek as a coach really helps as well. Both, KP and Hornacek seem like good-natured guys, which makes their relationship much easier and more natural, and that brings success in his development. Supporting cast looks great also, every time Kristaps plays with 2nd unit, the basketball that they play looks more european and team oriented. I wish Kristaps Porzingis and New Yorck all the best, it looks like this is going to be an amazing ride!

i forget webber and shaq both left after their soph year. i think everyone can agree about what he needs to improve on as well.

I believe so. And 8 of the players on the list can be considered "Great"
And I list 4 as not great (maybe) Gasol, Mutumbo, Davis and Sampson.
Davis will probably be considered a great when it's all said and done.
Mutumbo is an all time great defender.
Sampson was great in college but injuries derailed his career.
Gasol is damn good

Cousins will be available in 2018, Jokic might be in 2019 and Towns might be in 2020, anthony davis in 2021. Ideally it's Towns we wait for, but you'd have to think Minny is going to do everything possible to retain him. Cousins might get dealt before he hits free agency. we desperately need to find a blue chip wing and/or pg in the mean time.

Oh man seeing Porzingis in a list with my all time favourite NBA player Chris Webber, makes me feel sooo happy. YES Chris Webber is my favourite NBA player of all time haha
Celtics fan.

We also face the Kings twice in the near future. I think it's time Yabu pays back some of that free money he's been given his entire career and bounces Fox for a nice 2 week ankle sprain.
