Noel's weight is reportedly up to 232 (his biggest ). Doubt if he stays there through out the rest of the season though.

Read on Twitter

"Adrian Wojnarowski: Nerlens Noel in Philly, the research teams have done on him is not good. Their intel of how he’s carrying himself there, of his habits, is not a great return. There are teams willing to do a deal for him and bring him in, but they don’t want to give up much."

Perfect. Now we can focus on trading the center who actually needs to go...*cough* Okafor *cough*

Then certainly no one will throw the max at him, right? Or maybe the intel is an attempt at lowering the asking price.

I think there is a difference in spending money and trading assets.

Of all the mediots out there, Woj is the one guy that is usually pretty accurate when he says something. Thus, this tweet is pretty alarming and disappointing. I have been of a mindset to hold Noel, rather than give him up for nothing, but the guy must be a complete idiot. First off, I totally get why he's perplexed as to how it can work in Philly with so many big men, but he has done everything possible to make the situation worse. On top of that, he could be costing himself millions in FA. In any case, I still would prefer to trade him to the Western Conference first, but I don't see why you would trade him for someone like Crabbe and his ridiculous contract. If they are going to give him away for peanuts, I would rather not destroy the payroll like Portland has done. Just the same, if it appears they are going to get nothing for him, you could make an argument that they might as well keep him up until the trade deadline when injuries could occur or teams could become desperate.

Crappy situation all the way around made crappier by a guy that obviously has no clue.

There is a lot of dumb takes in response to this but this one about takes the cake. So in-response to a tweet questioning Noels commitment to the game you want to trade Okafor and presumably sign Noel to a max contract?

Of all the dumb things.

This just confirms what I've been saying all along and what I've gotten in multiple arguments with Dbodner about Noel over. There is more to the game of basketball then displaying 20 minutes of fury for 82 games or in Noel case around 60 games since he is always hurt. If he really was committed he would have been adding weight in the off-season. Fixed his jumpshot. Rebounded better. There has been zero growth to his game since entering the NBA.

Regardless of what we do with Okafor Noel has to go.

Why would a team throw a max contract at him if they don't like how he's "carrying himself" or his "habits"? Additionally, there are teams that are willing to deal for him but for peanuts. I'm having a feeling the two are linked. I don't know what Noel does in practice nor do I know what intel these teams have, but I do know what these teams want: A talented defensive big man without giving up too much.

yep. GMs will spend money like drunk sailors for free agents, but choke at anything like a mutually beneficial trade. but there are a bunch of underperforming teams heading into the playoffs. and Nerlens looked good against the Pistons. heck, maybe he should just give the logjam an honest shot. at worst it improves his intangibles. at best...?

He did twist his ankle, breaker. :D

Woj's report is a concern, but give him six or seven games to get his legs back and people will see him in a different light. I'm more concerned about Brown who keeps opening his big mouth. Just play them all, play them together, play them apart. Don't make it a BFD.

Talking about opening his mouth, I wouldn't be surprised if this report stems from BC blabbing to people. I mean, how would anyone know about how Noel was handling himself other than someone in the Sixers organization talking out of school?

This is the type of stuff that I can't stand. I trust that the report is true, but it bothers me that this is likely a self inflicted wound by someone in the Sixers organization.

If this report is true and we're able to sign Nerlens significantly cheaper than I'd expect, I'm down.

With Nerlens, I'd play more Biid/Jah (play big to start halves) and Holmes/Jah duo. Both have good NetRtg BUT on small sample size. Then have Nerlens play more with Dario/ilyasova, similar to luc mbah-Nerlens back then.

I'd still finish games with PG-RoCo-Dario-Ilyasova-Biid. Was promising against the Pels.

It means Dario playing more at SF and Jah more at PF than average. One of our wing (Hollis?) getting real low minutes while Nerlens and Jah lowering PT to around 20mpg (just like what back up.bigs have)

Maybe something like..

SF: RoCo 24/Saric 16/Hollis 8
PF: Jah 20/ilyasova 24/Saric 4
C: Biid 24/Noel 20/Holmes 4

Biid jah starting tonight

No way Noel doesn't get a max contract... Teams know what kind of player he can be once he gets a chance to finally play with a genuine NBA backcourt.

To be fair, what is Wojnarowski accurate about? The occasional "WOJ BOMB!!!!" when he tweets the outcome of a draft pick a couple of minutes for the actual event? He obviously has great relationships with certain GM's since they give him this information early, but how do we know he's not used to lower Noel's price in this case?

I'm not saying that the sum of all these things aren't somewhat alarming, but from what I(!) am seeing on the court, the kid gives 100% effort on the court. I've never read the outcome of the incident where his apartment got destroyed (by friends?), if someone did read it I would like a link. Seems cheap to blame him for something like that if his friends were accountable.

Fixed. If there's one guy you dump for 40-50 cents on the dollar, it's not the prototype modern NBA C. It's the 80's anachronism who can't defend to save his own life.
