Coutinho out 5-6 weeks. Aiming to be back against Man City.

Time for Dan and Divock to step up.

Thought that injury would keep him out longer

We have to kick the tires on Julian Brandt and Emil Forsberg. Doubt either are moving in January but I'd like to test Bayer and Leipzig. Also get Sead Kolasinic in on a free.

Coutinho out for about 4-5 weeks, it sounds like. Major bummer.

Well....this won't be the first time a title-contending team has faced a little adversity. Let's see what we're made of. We're in the midst of some 'easy' games (easier, is prob fairer....no easy games in EPL)...so perhaps we can weather the storm. Would be great if he were back before the Man-City game. We'll see.

Noticed Sturridge never came on the pitch. I think his time here is close to ending. I have my feelings (good and bad) about it, but truth is, he's too talented to be rotting on a bench. It will be better for him to move on, I'd say. For us...I think someone with a little more 'reliablity' would be great. Hopefully a solid (and I mean SOLID) defender. We could use defense.

Any thoughts on the Bournemouth loss? That one was definitely reminiscent of last season's Liverpool. Has to be worrying to see that kind of defensive futility against a pretty humdrum Bournemouth side.

Klopp and the team spent some time in Barcelona and watched today's CL matchup of Barca vs Gladbach.

Gotta hope for some team spirit and wins from from this one or the media will be after them...

I never thought I would want Mignolet to be in goal.

Karius makes Mignolet look like De Gea.

Simon Mignolet Is Liverpool’s Number One

When asked to estimate a time for Karius’ return to the pitch, the manager was very straightforward with his answer.

No, that’s not how football works,” said Klopp. “Now it’s Simon’s chance.

I know how strong Loris Karius is,” Klopp said, “but unfortunately he couldn’t show it in the last one, two, three games—I’m not sure, that’s not too important. I am absolutely not interested in public pressure. But I am interested in the boy and there is no reason to push him through this situation.

“There is absolutely no reason, especially when you have a goalkeeper like Simon Mignolet in training.”

A lot of the Premier League's good goalkeepers had shaky starts. Remember when De Gea tried to punch everything and made countless howlers? Not to say Karius will ever reach that level, but I'm sure he will eventually come good. I mean, he surely can't be any worse than Mignolet. He can't be any worse.

Today, he's worse. Last two games were brutal.

True. But he was very good in the Bundesliga, right? There's at least some evidence to suggest he can be a good goalkeeper.

I didn't watch him at Mainz. He supposedly was decent. But, I've been less than impressed so far honestly. As inconsistent as Mignolet can be. I haven't seen it at all from Karius. Very underwhelming signing.

Much needed 3 points. Hopefully Chelsea falls off at some point here.
