What separates Giannis from Bruno Caboclo?

Post#1 » by BobbySura » Thu Dec 15, 2016 8:30 am

Some of you might think this is a silly question, but I'm still curious for responses.

Giannis started playing basketball at 13.

Bruno Caboclo started playing basketball at 13.

Giannis - 6'11 222 Wingspan - 7'3 ish

Bruno - 6'9 205 Wingspan 7'7 ish

Giannis played better in the Greek league than Bruno did in Brasil, but it wasn't THAT much better.

So what's the real dividing factor here? Two guys with fairly similar builds and stories and one is much, much, much better. Is Giannis just that much harder a worker, or is it just natural talent? When Caboclo was drafted, people said he was 2 years away from being 2 years away. Now he's nearing his 4th year and it doesn't seem like he's approved much and any hype is gone.

Lol! Talent work ethic, athleticism. The only common that they have is that they are both black and tall slim built athletes. Thats all.

bruno said he wanted to be a soccer player but he grew too tall. his passion for basketball is nowhere near gianns. athletism nowhere near, feel for the game not close. he is so damn clumsey. honestly though bruno has a better shooting touch than gianns but his shot selection is so garbage it doesnt matter

Extrapolating stats from college or different international leagues is not an effective way of predicting NBA success.

Giannis is better at basketball, but Bruno arms so long he reached into the negotiating room while everyone was shaking hands and, without anyone noticing, added those two 2-way contracts into the new CBA, ensuring himself a career on the Raptors and possible adoption by Masai

And skills, ball handling, definitely. Bruno is probably the better three point shooter, but unfortunately that is the only skill he is probably better at, lol. And, well, is very far behind in most of the other skills, other than length.

This is a legit question. I'm a 6'3" and white and I still can't figure out how I'm two MVP trophies behind Steve Nash.

Makes NO sense I tell ya.

Nurse is below average at best.
Masai is overrated.
I dont get how so many people believe in the raptors, they have zero to chance to win it all.

Let's see... Bruno was 2 years away from being 2 years away 2 years ago so... maybe you should ask in 2 years, I think...

In related news, what separates Dirk from Yi Jianlian? I bet Dirk can also shoot over a chair...

For what it's worth, I voted for you over Nash both times.

Obviously there is a huge difference in skill, but how would some of you know that Giannis is more passionate or hard working than Bruno?

measurements aren't everything. A lot separates these two, for example Giannis is extremely talented and understands the game at a high level.

Bruno Caboclo? Caboclo? Some names aren't meant for greatness. :wizard:
