with noah's injury history you don't trade o'quinn unless you know for a fact willy is ready.

O'quinn doesn't really have an injury history so he should be just as tradeable in the summer. the risk/reward seems low to me.

because o'quinn playing at a high level might just be a hot streak.

if the trade benefits both teams, you consider it.

Koq hasn't suddenly become another player

He's always been a major hustle guy. He won that award 2 of 3 seasons in Orl

He's always been a strong passing big
He's always been physical
He's always had a pretty ok jumper

What's different is simple
He's lost some weight and gained quickness, he's been here a full season so he knows KP and melo a little, and he's surounded by better players.

Last year he was the backup to rolo. The drop off was significant and there was no one else behind him.

This year he's backing up Noah where sadly the difference is less pronounced and he's competing for mins with Willy

Perception is so big in this league and on this board
Perspective less so

Koq was always this guy, he's just got a better environment to shine now

It's also notable that people complain about not having home grown talent but as soon as someone starts to show some trade value people wanna move him for a pick

if a team is offering a first rounder you still consider it because it opens up minutes for hernangomez.

The Knicks would be dumb not to listen. Quit acting like he's untouchable all of a sudden guys.

O'Quinn has teased with good play in his career, and then always turns back into what he is, which is an inconsistent medicore player. We should be listening to see if we can sell high. Not sure what teams would offer, but this is the last guy on earth who should be untouchable, especially with a promising young center on the roster.

I have no idea who he is, but this dude nailed every aspect of our off-season so gonna give him the benefit of the doubt..

Anyways, its funny that we tried to move KO all off season unsuccessful and now we kept him and he established value..
Hes on a good deal too, has another year at 4mil guaranteed and 2018-2019 he can opt out, im sure he will..

He's been great and I love him, but theres always a price.
Knicks fans, whats the price?

it needs to be a High price. Quinn is giving us something we've needed but haven't had since the days of Oak and Mason. A DOG down low who will bang and grab that offensive rebound like Reggie Evans (minus the nut grabbing.) We lose him, we lose those offensive boards and the defense he's been able to play on BIGGER guys than himself. That 1st Kings game, Kyle ate Cousins cookies, stole his chocolate milk and made him give up his seat.

Didn't realize that but doesn't make me want KOQ at -$3M less any more.

I happen to love what Kyle brings to this team. His toughness alone is worth the contract

Not my fault KOQ has been a fat-ass for rest of his career prior to losing weight and coming into camp in shape.

I love how he is playing but would be nice (in right situation) to sell high on 1 of our players just once in history of this franchise.

because its christmas time and the thunder should be in the spirit of giving. but to answer your question, yeah they wouldn't trade him.

I think Roberson is also a upcoming RFA this summer and he could get offered something OKC won't want to match.

Have always liked him but a very poor shooter -- outside of that love this kid back to his U-Colorado days.

Deeeez Knicks wrote:I like KOQ and he is playing great, but if the right deal comes along you have to consider it especially since we have Willy.

I think we could really use a defensive SF/PF type. Like say, package LT and KOQ for someone like Aminu?

A versatile defensive F like that could really help our defense.

Would love Aminu but don't see that happening at all from Portland perspective -- they could use the beef but don't see them giving up on AA.

Perfect time to trade him. Sell high. We could fleece a team for him right now.

And don't forget Kyle is a native New Yorker. He is playing tough city ball with New York Knicks pride. He will never give another team the effort he gives here. This is the optimal situation for KOQ. He can be a long-term piece in NYC. Once he leaves, he's just another asset. Keep him in NY

If teams wanted a garbage can, they'd go to Home Depot

Return to New York Knicks
