Even getting a late 1st round pick would be great for a guy that had 0 value just a few months ago.

He's a role player that is doing well. He's not a core piece. If you can get a pick for him, you take it and don't think twice.

Wtf no its not. JR Smith was more than a role player for the Cavs. Would you consider him a core piece?

Shaun Livingston is a role player for GS. Is he a core piece?

I think the more evident point of y'all disagreement is that KOQ is a role player that is OUR core piece because we aren't that good and we have needed his production. On a lot of other elite teams he's a good bench player.

Either way KOQ has a price, but if it's marginal we shouldn't make to move at the moment

A core piece is someone that helps to winning.

How is a role player not a core piece? They're the parts of the team that make up the depth.

Absolutely Livingston is a core piece, JR Smith as sh*tty as he played in the Finals is another core piece.

That's like Mason not being a core piece.

Yea.

LOL @ wanting to trade away our muscle for foolishness.

Unless we're offered a can't say no deal ( a first rounder doesn't qualify), Kyle need to stay right where he's at. GTFOH trading away chemistry for things of no consequence.

You guys are the type that would've been pissed when the Spurs traded George Hill away, if you were SA fans.

"Wtf who are these young guys. I don't want them. Hill was a good backup for us".

Same idea. There were legit SA fans that were upset at trading Hill.

There's also legit NY fans that wanted to give Langston Galloway a $10m contract when he was peaking for us. Knick fans always overrate the living sht out of our players. Detach yourselves emotionally. If a good deal comes up, you take it.

With the dearth of big men in the NBA, you can get a nice haul for KOQ.

It really depends on the deal, his value is sky high now because of his play, but he needs to sustain it. His contract is perfect for teams with all these huge deals, so it really doesn't make sense to trade him unless a team overpays.

This is also one of the deepest drafts of all time coming up. There will be value even in 18-30 range. If you can get a pick from this year, you take it.

Everything comes at a price. If someone offers you a first rounder, you consider it, at least, depending on the perceived draft position. Then, if the offer is good enough, you could, for instance, use that draft pick alongside our own pick to move even further in queue. There are multiple options available that must be considered even though I absolutely love Kyle O'Quinn.

Also lettuce be reality about our big men in the coming years. Noah is immovable because of the contract, so he'll be here. Willy with his relationship with KP will be our other main big, along with KP, and as he develops more will need more minutes. KOQ is doing nice, but he's not gonna be in our long term plans.

I honestly think that this draft is overrated. But i would definitely take a late 1st for Kyle.

Everyone after Simmons and Ingram from last year wouldn't even go top 10 this year. Hell Ingram might not even go top 10 if he came out in this draft.

I'm sure Thibs would love KOQ, he's the center/ PF that can rebound, defend, and block shots, he's close to the perfect piece he's looking for. Would Thibs do KOQ and Lee for LaVine. I'm salivating at LaVine's potential. Don't want to give up Lee, but if it means to get LaVine, who's a legit 3rd option (20+ppg) and can definitely grow to become legit 2nd option, I'm all for it. Getting KoQ and Lee would immediately boost their D.

By the same token, neither would the Knicks. Once a team doesn't control their pick, they set their strategy accordingly. At draft time, a prospect is a more fixed commodity.

Was going to propose an idea of maybe getting Aaron Brooks or Rodney Stuckey packaged with a pick for KOQ. Pacers look like they have a need for a big man, and the pick could end up being late lotto.

Brooks is a FA after this year, but Stuckey is under contract for 7mil for next year. Knicks have a need for a 3rd pg...but I'm not sure if I like this trade for the Knicks now that I typed it out lmao. Don't think the value is there, the pick would help though. Brooks/Stuckey are not horrible 3rd pg options, but I haven't followed them too closely for a couple of seasons now.

Eh, like I said, now that I typed it out, not a huge fan of the idea but would like to hear some thoughts.
