COME OVER ZIZIC!

Austin then got to see great game of Nik Slavica, 19yo 6-8 Croatian forward, definitely candidat for Wolves 2nd round pick...but i believe he will go in first round.
Žižić was solid with 14 & 8, but Slavica was great with 25 & 9 & 5 and monster dunk

Its a same guy who stuffed Jayson Tatum at U19WC

I would love to see him on C's along his friend Žižić

Not listed on Draft Express or NBADraft.net.

DX has him as the 98th best prospect, NBADraft has a profile, but he didn't crack their top 100. He's a SF who can't shoot 3s or FTs at all, if he fixed his shot he would get drafted, as is now, I can't see any NBA team touching him.

I REALLY do like this kids game. From a physical standpoint he's NBA ready. He should be a versatile defender.

But I'm mostly excited about:

Good stroke from 3, plus covers a lot of ground driving to the hoop with athleticism. Strong finisher around the rim, able to attack the closeout. Those two skills really go well together.

Jimmer scored 46, took 20 3s. Sharks lost to Beijing Dragons.

I understand why Yabu is playing in China in case we want to bring him over. But it is still tough to tell if he's an NBA level player when no one on the court is even close to as strong as he is. Serious question, would an average D1 college team beat an average Chinese league team?

lol game has so much soundtrack. at one point they're playing 'where is the love' just because.

Nice to see Yabs making some more standout plays here. Had settled into a lot of 'mostly 3s' highlights; this has some more spice to it.

We will see what Yabu does in the D league after the Chinese season ends. I think he could be a solid role player.

While I think you can question overall scoring, FG%, rebounding, block and steal numbers, what you can evaluate in any setting are things like footwork, 3pt%, FT%, creativity, court vision, awareness, hustle, overall level of activity and how he operates in a team setting. These highlights don't tell the whole story, of course, but I'm quite enthused at many of the things I've seen beyond just seeing the ball always go in the basket which is always a factor that skews one's perception. :D

Agreed. Though he didn't finish through the bump, that little side-step/euro-step drive was nice to see.

WOW, I don't care if he was playing against a high school JV team, you can't deny that Yabu's got some unique skills. He moves incredibly well for a guy with his size. Imagine if Sully could finish like that?! A couple of times he took off from a decent distance from the hoop. And I really like his intensity/passion, this kid has heart.

Reminds me a little of Rodney Rogers.

Well, I took the opportunity to watch a couple of Yabusele's games and I'm, admittedly, now less enthused about what we've got and when we'll get it. Activity level comes in spurts, he "trots" up the court on defense, and not a multi-jump rebounder from the still small sample I viewed. Not to mention seems to get pushed around a bit more than one would think given his build.

Here is the last game in its entirety. Fast forward to about 12:45 mark, Sharks are in Orange.

Agree. I hope they can deal him in a package to get back around the 16 area this year and pick up a far superior prospect

17 points, 5 rebounds, and 2 assists in just 19 minutes for Zizic in Cibona blowout win vs. Igokea.

Either that, or I bring him over next year, start his rookie contract, but keep him "home" and tell the guy your development this year is training to run a marathon and shooting 3's. The follow year he goes D-league. And sniffs the NBA court in year 3 maybe.

Again, this is based on watching 2 games and the year is still young. We'll see.

I have not watched entire games, only D-League and China highlight reels. I am much more optimistic than you guys. He just turned 21 yesterday. Let Brad and his staff coach him up for a couple of years. I think he should be at lest a rotation player own the road.

Kudos for going being the highlights, darrendaye. Sorry to hear it though!

I wouldn't put it in the James Young rookie year level of inactivity, but, he's the kind of guy whose going to need to be a max effort type if he's going to make it. Sully at least worked hard to snatch the rebound with multi-jump effort frequently. If Yabu is going to be more a 3/4 hybrid, he's going to need to be hyper-active and hit a high percentage from 3.

Thanks for putting in the time. I'd like to be optimistic, but I've been grumpy since the beginning that he chose China. Would have really needed to see him lighting it up over there to get too pumped.

Still, as long as even one of Nader/Yabu/Zizic becomes a player, it's all good. Quality may be optimal over quantity in the NBA, but we've got so freaking much quantity that we don't need to hit on all of it by a longshot.

I know everyone loves Rozier's upside but I hope DJ gets some run this season. I get dissapointed real easy when Terry only takes two or three shots some nights. I desperately want to see any young kid break out.
