Hey, Jason Smith had a terrific night last night. Ok it doesn't happen often (i.e. this is the first in a Wizards uni), but still give the guy credit. We definitely don't win last night without him.

Aside from going 5-9 from the floor and 2-2 from the line, realize that we won because we got to take 14 more shots than Charlotte. Smith gave us 6 of those extra shots via 3 offensive boards and 3 steals. 7 rebounds total. All that in 18 minutes.

With the rise of Jason Smith and the imminent return of Manhimi, it will be tough to distribute minutes between the 3 centers. Soon enough, we'll be in a similar situation as Philly.

So much talent at one position.

When you're in the same position as Philly, you know you've done something right.

This thread would be better if it was called Jason Smith's bald spot.

Jason Smith is an enigma.

He looks like a solid, toolsy NBA player

He's big, strong and fast
His shot LOOKS like butter
He's smart
He hustles

But almost nothing he does on the court ever seems to be a positive

His great looking J almost never falls
He'll have inside position, but not get the rebound
He'll set a good pick, then get called for an offensive foul
His textbook form bounce passes get intercepted

SuperJasonSmith is handsome and powerful. He is much better than michael jordon, who is foolish and ballhoggedy.

The "it doesn't happen often" remark was disrespectful to the Caucasian Sensation.

Uh, ok. He reminds me of my Uncle Hugh. Uncle Hugh used to restore old cars. That was cool.

The Village Blacksmith
by Henry Wadsworth Longfellow

Under a spreading chestnut-tree
The village smithy stands;
The smith, a mighty man is he,
With large and sinewy hands;
And the muscles of his brawny arms
Are strong as iron bands.

His hair is crisp, and black, and long,
His face is like the tan;
His brow is wet with honest sweat,
He earns whate'er he can,
And looks the whole world in the face,
For he owes not any man.

Week in, week out, from morn till night,
You can hear his bellows blow;
You can hear him swing his heavy sledge,
With measured beat and slow,
Like a sexton ringing the village bell,
When the evening sun is low.

And children coming home from school
Look in at the open door;
They love to see the flaming forge,
And hear the bellows roar,
And catch the burning sparks that fly
Like chaff from a threshing-floor.

He goes on Sunday to the church,
And sits among his boys;
He hears the parson pray and preach,
He hears his daughter's voice,
Singing in the village choir,
And it makes his heart rejoice.

It sounds to him like her mother's voice,
Singing in Paradise!
He needs must think of her once more,
How in the grave she lies;
And with his hard, rough hand he wipes
A tear out of his eyes.

Toiling,--rejoicing,--sorrowing,
Onward through life he goes;
Each morning sees some task begin,
Each evening sees it close
Something attempted, something done,
Has earned a night's repose.

Thanks, thanks to thee, my worthy friend,
For the lesson thou hast taught!
Thus at the flaming forge of life
Our fortunes must be wrought;
Thus on its sounding anvil shaped
Each burning deed and thought.

I sense a Willis Reed thing coming on. The mighty Smithy, bum hammy and all, limps out of the locker room to lead us to victory.

Either that or he's already showered and eating a dragon roll in the players' lounge.

I am officially OFF the satoransky bandwagon and ON the Jason Smith bandwagon.

There's only room for one highly explosive white guy on this team.
