Relax, man, there's no reason to start cursing him until he starts threatening to sit out or something. No one gains anything by you pretending you know what teams think about him, especially not that they ran some sort of secret personality tests and found out he's a 'whiny malcontent bitch.'

He gets to be a real human and express those concerns in a modest, polite way (which is basically what that interview was). Adrian Wojnarowski commented on the state of Noel trade talks.

“The research teams have done on him is not good,” Wojnarowski said. “They don’t get good reports back on their intel, how he’s carried himself there, of his habits. It’s not a great return. There are teams willing to do a deal for him and bring him in but they don’t want to give up much.”

What are you trying to achieve here? If we could get a nice return on either of them, they would be gone today. Obviously we can't have 3 centers, and obviously Okafor isn't a great NBA player now (regardless of system). We haven't found a great trade partner for Noel or Okafor so right now we can only wait, play them when we can, and either hope that a deal pops up at the deadline or in the RFA period. The only thing extra urgency does is make us more likely to take back some junk offer (a Cavs' 1st and Mo Williams! Terrence Ross and a late 2nd!). Unless you're cool with that, then waiting is the only move.

What am I trying to achieve? Simple, I am explaining why we need to trade Okafor. His value is not high, and probably will never be unless some other team falls into desperation mode for one reason or the other. Regardless, should we really wait for that hope to be realized? Obviously BB doesn't know how to handle this situation and BC needs to start looking for something. But no matter what, we need to stop this Twin Tower nonsense!

Terrence Ross for Okafor would be close to equal value.

I think a big part of the problem with running the twin towers offense is we don't have a PG who can make the entry pass to one let alone two of our bigs. It's sad to see Okafor and Embiid basically have to throw entry passes to each other.

The other problem with it is just the newness to both players in particular Embiid. He has been used to being in certain spots most of the season to all of sudden ask him to play PF is going to take an adjustment. It's why this should have happened much earlier.

Woj's opinion pieces are almost always serving an agenda. In this case, the agent that Noel just fired, Andy Miller, is a trusted source for Woj so he was sticking up for his boy.

Being a malcontent hurts his earning power, and he should recognize that.

He is poisoning the well with these comments because he is both hurting the team, and himself.

If he is frustrated with his situation, behind the scenes he should tell BC that he has no intention of resigning here and that he wants to be traded. Then he should bust his but on the court and be a good soldier publicly.

He is acting like a spoiled child right now.

I'm stunned after everything that has happened inregards to Noel that people are still out there taking that view. Noel has said he wants out. Every legitimate rumor of the last five months has us moving Noel. The deadline has passed for a contract extension before he can reach free agency. He is an RFA after this year, wants max money, and we only have the center role available for him moving forward.

There is refusing to read the tea leaves and then there is ignoring a big bold neon sign flashing right in front of you. Noel supporters live in the own reality I guess. Thats not to say Okafor future here is particularly rosy either but that is a separate issue. Noel can, will, and should be moved. Period end of story.

You have to read the actual quotes, not the completely different ones you apparently invented in your head.

"You've got three talented centers that can play 30-plus minutes a night and three centers can't play 30 minutes a night. That's that. Things need to be situated," Noel said. "Obviously, somebody's got to be moved around. It's a tough situation, but I can only say so much because I have no say and no power."

"I feel like it definitely needs to be figured out," he said. "I think at the end of the day, again, you have three starting-caliber centers. And it's just not going to work to anybody's advantage having that on the same team. That's how I'm looking at it. I'm not opposed to anything, but things need to be situated."

Noel said he wasn't speaking negatively about the team's other starting-caliber centers, Embiid and Jahlil Okafor. Nor was he speaking for them.

"Don't get me wrong. We all get along great on the court and off the court," Noel said. "But at the end of the day, it's like having three starting quarterbacks. It doesn't make any sense."

However, he was adamant that his feeling would not affect his performance.

"I'm here to do my job and play as hard as I can play for the city of Philadelphia," Noel said. "I've always loved the fans from the jump. It's probably one of the realest cities in the country with just genuine passion and love for the sport."

So... ready for this? Dude is upset he didn't get paid, and now he wants PT to make his case to get paid, but it doesn't matter where that is because money is green on the Atlantic and the Pacific.

Your hatred of an actual good player who fits in the NBA as it is currently in favor of a dopey bar brawler who only has one NBA skill and that skill hasn't been important since the 90's is amazing.

Anyway, he said starter quality. Meaning playing starter mins. You do know between C and PF there are 96 mins available, meaning theee bigs on one team can all play starter quality minutes?

I think that it is obvious from Noel's comments that he won't be happy behind Embiid. Noel can't play the 4, and Embiid shouldn't play the 4.

Okafor is simply a more mature kid than Noel is. He had a bad month before his rookie year started, but he had been great off the court, and above the neck since then.

I've favored Okafor over Noel but I try to be at least fair. I criticize Okafor when he isn't performing, isn't putting forth the effort I'd like to see, and demonstrates bad habits.

You Noel supporters never do that with Noel. He is basically taking a piss on the whole organization but thats just fine with you. Since you won't say it I will he isn't good enough to be causing these type of problems for the team. You bring up Embiid being unhappy first I would take issue with Embiids comments being anyway similar but lets say for example it were. I'd listen to his concerns because Embiid is a franchise type talent. Noel is not. He is a side piece.

I'd take the same type of attitude if it was Okafor by the way but at least he has demonstrated professionalism to not discuss these things in the media. Personally, I think thats one of the reasons why even though I have my doubts about the twin towers fit we owe it to try before moving him. Noel I couldn't care less about him. Just get him off the team already. Preferably to a team like the Nets where he can languish losing 50 games for the rest of his career and watch us ascend from the sidelines.

Regardless of who is more whiny and who is more mature and who has a better jumper who is the better defender and who wants what minutes..., if it comes down to someone has to get dumped for 25¢ on the dollar, then that has to be Okafor. He's the one with the anachronistic skill set. Noel fits too many teams to a T to accept 25¢ on the dollar bad offer IMO.

Maybe Noel's new agent can get a decent offer on the table from a team Noel wants to go to and will re-sign with.

I don't consider what Noel is doing to be "pissing on the team". He's mad he's getting screwed out of money. You''d be mad too if management started messing around with your paycheck. If they had extended him, there's no issue. Noel is mad about his minutes because without his minutes he can't get out there to show he's worth the big paycheck he feels is coming to him.

With that being said, I don't care if they trade Noel, but they can't dump him for peanuts.

You're espousing a old school notion of loyalty that no longer exists. Most guys play for themselves, hopefully their teammates, and maybe their coaches depending. Name on the front of the jersey is for the fans. Would it be a better look if Noel kept his mouth shut? Sure. But dude is mad and he's still basically a kid without a filter.

The problem is both them are not in the same stage of their contracts. It isn't simple as keeping Noel over Okafor. We also have to max him.

No thanks. Just beyond the 25c on the dollar. The complaining about time. The maturity and the jumper. He isn't worth a max deal right now. You are paying for potential rather then performance.

Which is fine if it was PG/SG/SF or a position of need. C? We already have one. Even if he ever becomes the player we drafted him as (which I have my doubts) we don't have the minutes for him. This is actually a really easy decision and always has been.

And it doesn't do much of anything for us anyway. Ross isn't remotely close to a difference maker and he's under contract for a few years. Not a long term answer, no pt in him as short term stopgap.

not sure why Ilya was taking Noel minutes last night. Or taking all those shots. he started out well enough after the trade, but not so much lately, and he is not part of our core.

Sure, but it doesn't matter much for us. Teams know the situation we're in, and Noel is just saying what everyone who looks at the situation knows: dude isn't happy suddenly being 3rd string in a contract year.

I don't get the craziness here: we didn't know we'd have Embiid back, now we do and he's made our previous, far less promising young centers redundant. There's no simple way out of that: neither Noel nor Okafor has great value and everyone knows that, and we're sort of stuck waiting for the best offer. It's not a good situation but I don't see what people are worked up about. We have no other options for Noel/Okafor but taking the best offers, and we have Embiid as our long-term 5. The former thing is an unfortunate necessity, and the latter thing is awesome. End of story.

I would do Ross and the worse of TOR/LAC 1st for Jah right now. TOR never does that.

And it doesn't do much of anything for us anyway. Ross isn't remotely close to a difference maker and he's under contract for a few years. Not a long term answer, no pt in him as short term stopgap.

It is a short term and long term answer. It instantly makes us a better team, by removing Okafor from the roster and allowing better players like Noel and Holmes to get minutes. And trading Okafor for Ross makes us better in the 'long run' because we will be developing our franchise big man in his proper position instead of wasting time fouling his game, playing out of position.

Actually if you ask me which Center I want for my perfect championship caliber team, I will chose Asik hands down

Nothing's gained by that. Best case scenario we win maybe 2.5 games more this year without Okafor, not a significant long or short term benefit (def not enough to punt on Okafor having more value somewhere down the line). I don't need to point out the obvious that they could just not play him very much, or only in favorable situations.

I agree with this. Not playing him is the better option.
