Next brain snap of cousins, I wonder if we could tempt Sacramento with a package of zeller, mkg and frank? We could take afflao to match salary and he's been awful this year.

Also I have to feel a little for ichiro right now, he's been nagging us to consider trading mkg for years now

MotorKeepsGoing wrote:Why would denver add a pick? Faried is a better player than Frank. You realize Faried is a career 16/12 guy per 36 right? And he's on a pretty reasonable contract? He has a fairly limited skillset but I like what he brings to the table. He'd be great here, though I think he and Cody might be a little too similar in some ways. We'd want to stagger their time.
They get less committed salary. Faried is riding the pine in Denver these days. His "career per 36" numbers are a thing of the past for him in Denver. He's only getting playing time in the teens these days.
They are carrying his contract for a few more years. Frank is younger and has (supposed) upside.
Cody with Marv.
Hawes with Faried.
I think he'd bring excellent energy in the 2nd unit. He'd also make an excellent 5 in a small ball line up.

Portland used to play him there occasionally.
I think we have the perfect amount of wings. The problem is Clifford being bad at figuring out how to get his best players on the court and finding ideal player combinations, and also having an aversion to going small.
I want to see him stop playing Hibbert, except for some specific circumstances, and play MKG more at PF and use Hawes/Frank and even a bit of Marv at backup center. This opens up a decent chunk of minutes on the wing and allows us to give our second best backup and scorer (Lamb) more than 12-15 minutes a game.

Re: Fake Trade Thread 16/17 pt.1
Since we play Atlanta tonight, i would have a look on Scott and Sefolosha.
Scott is not playing (often injured though) with the hawks, but he is a tweener with better inside game than marvin. I would move Frank to the 5 and stop the stretch 4 experiment.
i don't think it would cost a lot to get him since they prefer and play Muscala.
Sefolosha+Scott for Hawes would work, but the main target would be Scott for me.
I would keep Lamb/Sessions/Hibbert for a bigger trade (with Lamb being the trade bait obviously).

Thabo has been good for them, I think. I see absolutely zero reason for any team to take on Hawes other than salary filler in a bigger trade where we have to match salary somehow.

TJ Warren making his return for the Suns tonight.
Would love to find a way to pry him away from PHX. He's a deadly scorer and vastly improved this year on the defensive end of the ball.
shame we likely dont have the assets. MKG and an unprotected first likely not enough to entice them the way Warren started the season

Then what could be the cost for the Hornets to get Scott from Atlanta ? What i proposed also frees up a roster spot (i also had that in mind).
Would a second round pick be enough for a guy like Scott ?

How is MKG on defence for you guys?
How is your starting center?
I think mkg could help the raptors and valancuinas could help the hornets.
Hornets recieve:
Cory joseph
Jonas Valancuinas
Raptors recieve
1st rounder
MKG
FIllers?

Eh, Zeller is a lot better than his box score stats indicate and one of our most important players. Jonas is good as well and it would be nice to have them both, but we don't necessarily need another good starting center. Cojo is a nice sweatener cuz Sessions has been pretty awful for us. The 1st round pick is too much, though. Make that a second and the value is fair imo, but I still don't know if its the kind of trade we need.

A hornets fam was willimg to trade a first rounder for cojo and hes actually our best perimeter defender but we have a longjam at the point guard spot. Id like to think the hornets first rounder will be above 20s and you gotta give to get anything in this league so the first rounder could be 2018 or 2019 if youd wanna see how good your team is after the val and joseph are

Fair enough. 1st would probably be alright with some protection in case we end up in the lotto. Value is right, but I still dont know if thats the trade id look for with those assets. Also, MKG hasnt had a very good season and we might be selling low.

FOR sure lotto protection. i think mkg could be useful to rebound and play defence even if he doesnt shoot 3s. I think hornet couldnuse somenmore offence and cojo could be the 6th man like he is for toronto with a lowry-cojo backcourt

Re: Fake Trade Thread 16/17 pt.1
I think we can all agree we need to make a move with this current team, but finding the right player is not easy.
Watching games this year our biggest room for opportunity is another player who can break the defense down/score. When Kemba is not in the our offense is not dynamic and we miss Big Al as an alternative scorer.
Trading for another wing makes sense, but it also doesn't as Lamb and Belly are our two best bench players and they will be the ones who lose minutes. Outside of Cody our frontline has been pretty uninspiring, Frank has been up and down, Marv has been just okay, and Hawes and Hibbert are on and off who should play.
The way I see it is we can go three routes with a trade.
1. Trade a major part of core for a big name player to pair with Kemba, maybe take a step back.
2. Trade a major core player for another that changes our team significantly different.
3. Trade bottom of the roster players for an extra rotation guy.
Problem with option one is there is no real big name player available, right now. Jimmy Butler would of made sense, but the Bulls are surprisingly competitive right now. Blake Griffin is not really an option with Clipper starting off so hot.
Problem with option three is that trading Lamb, Hawes, or Sessions is not really going to bring in a player that makes a huge difference unless we attach a first rounder. And I just do not think its good practice to trade back to back first rounders, and that would be trading 3 of last 4 firsts if count Vonleh (not saying that was a bad trade). As an organization you want to keep young talent coming in consistently.
That leaves option 2. Some guys who could make sense here are Brandon Knight, Rudy Gay, Paul Millsap, Kenneth Faried, or maybe Lou Williams.
I think the trade that I like the most is trying to steal Rudy Gay from Sacramento, there are a few ways we can go about that, especially since they are not very high on him anymore. He would give us a secondary scorer to Kemba and he is dynamic in the ways he can score. He can play the 3 or 4 as well as can start or come off bench.
Trade options-
MKG for Gay... gives us a more offensive 3 and more shooting.
Marvin for Gay... more flexibility. Can start Gay at 4, or move Frank to starters and bring Gay off bench. Gives Cliff a lot of options to close the game with.
Hawes and Lamb for Gay... lose a good bit of depth in 2 for 1. Maybe could add our first and get Caspi or someone else too.

For what? Kemba's PO minutes will be 35+ so getting a backup PG and a scoring non-passing C taking usage and space are 180's from what CHA needs.
Basically the same reason Val and Joseph would be on the block except CHA just surrendered their best defender. Jeez plus kicking in a 1st.
